New features in Google Earth 4.3

How come I can't get the sunlight to work right? I can see the terrain and imagery darken, but when I zoom in and tilt, the sky is still blue with no sun. Moving the slider doesn't help. I have tried in both DirectX and OpenGL modes. :(

Same here, I think they only concentrated on certain city's for the best picture (like San Francisco) where others fall horribly short. It also might be the computer they where using, it was probably really high end.

Ehm, didn't quite get the last part, but in SketchUp, there is a button that says "upload to google earth (or somewhere around the lines of that) and a relative also told me it. And you can also upload your own pics. But both houses & pics need to be confirmed, which might take a while. (No i'm not sure i'm right, but i think so)

my only complaint is that you cant see the sea. I love finding ships and planes in there. the least you could do is have an option for it. keep it up. best map ever.

You can build your own house i think, go download sketch up, you can then insert your house to Google earth. (at least i think so)

It's a lot of work to make EVERYTHING 3D. In the near future they might but for now, famous monuments, landmarks, and popular cities will have the 3D option. It's yellow because you have not unchecked the streets layer I believe.

Right now Google has only programmed 3D structures into the most popular cities, like New York, Tokyo, and Las Vegas, among others. If you're checking a fairly remote place, then there won't be any 3D buildings there. With that in mind, they're updating the system all the time. I can't wait for all buildings to eventually become 3D!

I think what they're trying to say is that this can potentially provide anyone wishing to commit "terrorist activities" with a brief overlay of their target in a matter of a few clicks. Just makes it easier to do reconnaissance, you don't have to physically be there to take photographs etc. (which could make you look suss, and even be questioned by police as to why you'd be taking a pic of a government buildng (for example) in the first place. Blah.

have u guys checked Bondi beach parking lot in Sydney , Australia??? I swear u can even see some cars very detailed, guess the brands and even see ppl on the beach and tell if they are women or men, amaizing zoom, if somebody see other places as detailed .....Plz let me know Luv google earth, hope one day i can see my whole city, Manizales, Colombia.

Downtown Boston has 3d buildings as well. It's awesome to hop from camera to camera. It's like a magic carpet ride when you change cities like Boston to LA or Dallas. It's a real roller coaster.

I updated to Google Earth 4.3 last week and got a chance to play around with it. That sunrising and sunsetting feature default synced with your timezone with time lapse capabilities and the implementation of Google Street View into Google Earth are really awesome. The control features are more flexible as well. Google Earth keeps getting better and better in features, technology, and intuitive interfacing with each new version they release.

at 0:57 to change to sunsets and sunrise you use the time slider. but i tried that on my google earth that i downloaded a month ago and it doesn't work the sky stays the same hue of blue the entire time.

you dont have to worry about that, sattelites are not stationary and there are not enugh owned by google to be controled by each individual to zoom in to that many specific locations at the same time.
