Originally, with iOS 18, we were promised a smarter Siri, but instead, Siri got dumber. Now, when I ask for a weather forecast, all I get is "it will be clear today" or "it will be cloudy today". Whereas before the iOS 18 update, Siri gave me a full weather report, including the day's temperature range. No improvement with 18.0.1. I want my old Siri back! Meanwhile, ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode works flawlessly on my iPhone SE 2022.

I used to be able to say, “Siri, what is the date eight weeks from today?” and I would get an answer. Now it has no idea what I’m talking about.

@@LeesReviews69 Funny you should say that; last Saturday I asked Siri what the date would be next Saturday and he kept telling me that it would be the 12th of October despite the fact that it would be the 5th. Something's off.

I am not a kid. I own a 14pro and I don’t want to spend another grand+ to upgrade this early. So I would have tried to install it out of curiousity. Even if it’s just to experience it and see if it would meet the expectations all the fuss is creating.

MS-DOS doesn't exist in any modern iteration of Windows. It's the Command Prompt, or now PowerShell. It's not DOS.

@@20NewJourney23 Well it still looks like a DOS prompt. It's a black rectangle with a blurb about microsoft, then the C:\ prompt. looks identical to the old MS-DOS prompts. :-)

I cancelled my Prime and Netflix subscriptions this year because their shows are mediocre. AppleTV+, with shows like Slow Horses, The Morning Show and Ted Lasso is an excellent value. I’ll be watching Napolean soon. Then again, back in the days of cable, I only watched news and PBS

I think Apple is not investing in Open AI because they don't want to be tied to one company because their long term plan is work with a bunch of them and they don't want the appearance of favoritism. For example in the US they would offer users the choice between Open Ai, or Llama or Claude and in China Baidus offering.

You are correct the movies and the Director that film those movies are good movies, maybe be good now that winter is coming. More peoples be indoors and looking for a good movie. You are right Marti Scorsese is not cheap. quality movies.

Respectfully, I have to say first, Pulling up the weather, turning on my lights,etc. is nothing new. SIRI could do that a long time ago. But SIRI could not do much else. 2. The reason Apple made the hard line in the sand on hardware is this. I Technically don't know the actually minimum specs it takes to run Apple AI but.... If apple had said anything from the iPhone 12 to the iphone 16 will run Apple AI. And the first experience people have is Crashes and painfully slow use of AI people are just going to quit using it all together and it is hard to get uses to try it again other than a few techies with a bitter tast in their mouth. And that is not Apple's way to make a under performing product. Expensive product yes.

This is actually a great question. At first I thought it was due to the lack of a neural engine. I checked their website, and the 15 pro also has a 16 core neural engine just like the new 16 pro max. They I thought not enough ram, but the 15 pro has the same 8gb of ram too. the 14 pro max also has the 16 core neural engine, although it has 2gb less ram giving it 6gb. I can't seem to find any solid reason as to why they wouldn't at least allow some features of apple intelligence to run on the 14/15 for those that want it. They are including it on the older macs going back to 2021.

Apple intelligence was one of the main selling points for the new devices… 😂 guess they’ll have to have a re-do… again. I’ll stick with what I have for now and see what happens with the next one. I might just end up waiting for them to make the software so bloated that my phone can’t handle it and be forced to upgrade. 😅

Apple is not, nor have they ever been, primarily interested in AI. It's a shame you two were misdirected, it happens a lot around newbies to Apple. OK, let's start from the beginning, when did Apple start making all these new devices? Day 1 of the new era, Tim is shown the Vision with the M2, and an engineer remarks, "And of course, it can't play games." Boy, things went crazy at Apple and Blender. Now you know too much.
