Wow, I didn't know Fenix came out with a E12v2! Thanks for reviewing it Chrispy Things! I've been carrying the original E12 for years, and I love the reliability, ease of use, small form factor, and its ability to tail stand. The E12 had lumen steps at 8-50-130. I think I would like the E12v2 5-30-160 better. Not only that, but the v2 has a better IPX rating, and comes with a reversible/2-way clip out of the box! I had to order a clip from Olight to get one, after doing research on tube diameters. I'll definitely be buying an upgrade, especially since they kept the price the same! I've got a drawer of Ni-Mh rechargable Eneloop batteries that were perfect for my E12. Now they'll be able to power my new E12v2 thanks to your review, Chrispy! Thanks again!

I just bought the E01 V2 as well as the E03r and they are great! I already have the E05 and have used it hard for 6+ years or so. Not bad light for a small easy to carry light. The E03r is crazy bright for it's size. Love both my new toys!

The 125 Lumens LD12, with the rubber button, was the best AA edc Flashlight Fenix has produced. Since then, the lumens got a raise, but everything else became worse. From the chiply feel metal button, to the much less runtime. Even the moonlight mode got worse, from 3 lumens, they got it to 5. That LD12 loaded with Energizer Lithium or Energizer Max plus, or even rechargables, IMO was the best edc single AA torch. PS If you can still find one in stock or even used, grab it and you 'll never look back! They just don't make 'em that good anymore!

I've been a flashlight nerd since the early 1980's when Maglite first entered the scene. Since then, I've amassed a rather extensive collection spanning many makers. The last purchase I blame on you which was the Nitecore TIP SE, and I've been very impressed with it. A little bulky for my EDC, but I do find it making its way into my daily life. Prior to this one, I had been utilizing my little Nebo Mycro. Although it's a nice little torch, the TIP SE has a better interface and that Turbo Mode should be called Beast Mode. I'd like to see the E03R with a turbo mode to rival the Nitecore TIP SE. Thanks for the mash up of Fenix lights my Friend! Cheers! Zip~

That TIP SE is one amazing little light. The E03R has a smaller body and can’t compare with light output of the TIP SE. I just love those red modes

Hi some quick question I'm just wondering if I can use the Fenix AA USB rechargeable battery on the E12 v2? the fenix USB rechargeable AA is a lithium ion, 1.5V with same dimension with the AA. (code ARB-L14-1600U). Thanks!

I don't have an AA flashlight so I might check out that E12. I'm not sure how I feel about square/rectangular/cube flashlights... i think I just have to get my hands on one to get a feel. I have a Original EO1..AND A E05 SS...BOTH ARE GREAT RELIABLE LIGHTS. i GAVE THE EO1 TO MY DAD 7 YEARS AGO AND HES STILL GOT IT ON HIS OLD JEEPS KEYCHAIN. However I just replaced my EO5SS with a RovyVon A3 700 lumens and usb internal battery! IMO it far surpasses these lights
@spamcan92083 жыл бұрын
The main selling point of these lights is it uses readily available batteries. You can get them almost anywhere in the world. While it's true they can't match the performance of rechargeable lithium batteries you can still get great performance that will meet most users' average daily needs with an easily replaceable power source. It's all about application, I don't think one type is better than the other.

Fenix e12 or Olight I5T EOS CU What would you prefer for edc?

The E12 over the i5t. But if you’re specifically talking about the i5t in copper, then yes I prefer the i5t copper version as an edc. Just my personal preference

Those are super different lights. If I remember correctly the LD30 is their new super thrower which uses a tech more akin to a laser. The E12v2 is a good general purpose light.

@el_cheburante77364 жыл бұрын

Is there a kind of rechargeable battery that would work for the e12 2.0?
@spamcan92083 жыл бұрын
Yes, Panasonic's Eneloop brand of NiMH (nickel metal hydride) are a great rechargeable battery. You'll notice a difference in run times on brighter settings when the current demand is higher.
