I’ve owned both, the 296GTB is one of the greatest driving Ferraris ever. I know to many who haven’t driven one that it may sound ludicrous that a hybrid V6 Ferrari could be that amazing ……but it honestly is

@@warfordcars Yes, I owned a 458 italia about 10 years ago. My spider is going through a winter carbon upgrade at the moment - drop me a line next year if you want to go for a ride in it. It'll have every OEM carbon part available, and most probably the Capristo 458 glass engine cover. So I'd hope the finest 458 spider in the country (Speciale Aperta's aside). Cheers

458 for me last of non turbo v8 s sounds so much better than new Ferrari models. Looks great too .

Crazy. I’m 52 and wanted a Ferrari since I could talk. Grew up with magnum PI and the 308. I did kind of win the lottery. Made $1mm in good stock market speculation in the last three months. Ended up buying a Corvette Stingray for $100k. 3lt, z51, convertible,… Some people say “well that’s not a Ferrari”. Right. It’s got a look like a 458 and Lamborghini had a baby. Beautiful car Its performance specs beat the 458. The sound is a NA v8. The glass cockpit has all the tech of a 296. It has a warranty. It’s cheaper to fix out of warranty So far it seems the layout and design are brilliant. Cameras built in. 14spkr Bose. No “byo speaker” nonsense. I know that’s not this video comparison. My wife asks me if I regret the corvette instead of a used Ferrari (I have 159 miles on it right now). I said “not at all”.

The 296 is the evolution of everything Enzo was. If you are Enzo Ferrari F1 Scuderia taught, the 296 is the only choice. 458, a classic, one of the most beautiful for sure.

Luck enough to have both a 458 Spider and 296 GTS amongst others things. The 296 GTS is the best normal car Ferrari make, it's incredibly good to drive and is the better car in all ways by a country mile. However my 458 Spider is the one I will never ever sell becuse it was the first Ferrari I specced myself and I've had it 11 years now, it's everything you want from a Ferrari.

Love the 458 but i take the 296 any day!! I've been working in the field for just over 15 years and the 296 is one of the most fun cars I've ever driven, with the exception of the 488 Pista!

458 is a keeper. Last NA V8 Ferrari. Well built. Hard to get bored of. 296 is cool and super fast but you get used to the speed at some point and then you're stuck with a lot less good sounding Ferrari.

That 296 in black looks gorgeous imo. I also think the 488 has aged really well. Heard some horror stories about the 296 hybrid / charging systems and not a fan of haptics and lack of real gauges, in a dream world I would be going for a previous gen car personally. Would just need the maintenance fund well and truly topped up 🤪

458 best long term investment. Cheap at the moment, driven the hard top and spider and they are mega. Looks wise, 458 an F12 are the last great Pininfarina Ferrari's. Chris Harris just bought one and the only way is up ££££££££.
