I'm sorry but I'm hating the new card art, I've been playing Skullgirls for 5 years and I loved how they referenced the characters with specific frames. I know that it gives a new look to the cards but it destroys the tradition and make them look out of place

@@jimmychonkers8884 the Old menu music sounds like an old timey radio, which fits the theme of skullgirls, but the new one sounds like an orchestra, a big band if you will, it has a larger scale more epic vibe than the old one and there's a way that it sounds, it's like it's trying to tell a tragic tale, allowing it to flow with the story of skullgirls, the old one just doesn't have that.

I dont think they will change the old card art tbh, they probably will just leave it for monthly fighters to make them stand out from the rest, and to incentive players to spend money to get them.

there probably gonna leave it as is. creating new card art is not a easy task, and for over 189 (the original before new variants were added), thats a crap ton of work. so while it would be cool that every card got a new updated pose, i just don't think its possible or really necessary for them to have new card art. i think they look fine as is.

I am so happy for those variants coming this month I was so happy that the combo breaker leaked them as new monthly fighters I can’t wait to get them I really love these variants and I wish I can get them I really love the squigly umbrella robo fortune fukua cerebella and Ms fourtune they are so cute

I think that at this point they won't change the old cards they already print it and sell it like this Maybe they would try to mimic the art style as if it were a sprite from the game

1:38 well...one half of me thinks they'll probably leave the older cards alone since they're already there, but the other half of me thinks it would just be "unfair", i guess, if only the newer cards had different art while the older ones didn't. Basically, i think the older and newer cards would probably look weird next to each other, so i feel it would be nice if they changed all of them; just to fit the new card look they're going for. 1:53 In 2nd Encore, they gave Valentine's little syringes (the small ones that she throws) new effects(??) and they even gave her a slight design change with her crosses, so i wonder if they'll add those things to mobile🤔

I think it's fair that they'll do custom art for the monthly fighters, they're all references, so they're bound to run out of appropriate frames to use. In this state though, I'm not that much of a fan of it, but it's reasonable. It also concerns the fact that they're likely gonna release variants exclusively in the monthly events only, which diminishes the opportunity to use original palettes. I mean if they could just use the colors and make more accurate art of the reference, then why would they introduce original palettes for the sake of cool or meme? Also the lack of meme palettes irks my soul.

I feel the exact same way about the original colors from 2nd encore. There are lots of original colors I am waiting to see come to mobile, but it seems that all of the new colors are references. I asked myself this, are the original colors not sellable? If not, then add them into the game as new bronze or silver fighters and save the references for the gold and diamonds that you have to spend money on. When was the last time we had summonable silver fighters outside of a new character release? Seems they have been forgotten.

It's not the problem of original colors being unappealing or unmarketable, it's more on HV having dedicated the new releases to monthly fighters. The last original release was Deathwish which was a total success, that was intended to be limited but due to public demand made her accessible to the general fighter pool. Also it's not like monthly fighters are bad, it's more on that it's all the same, a gold and a diamond, both references, centered around the battle pass. I think they should be shaking it up a bit. Add an exclusive silver now and then so people don't get left out as much, use original palettes for the monthly fighters. Clearly HV is heading in a direction, but it's a direction where I think leaves a lot behind in favor of the new stuff, they found a consistent way to monetize the game, but haven't taken a step back to make decisions that doesn't have that in mind. Do you even remember the last time they release a proper fighter balance patch? They're trying to push the fomo route that gacha games use. Effective? Yes. But the new stuff isn't the reason I stay for the game, nowadays I find myself being more comfortable uninstalling it recently, rather than way back before the overhyped stuff. I fear that this is an era of sgm where the old stuff doesn't matter anymore, no ftp friendly variants, no balance changes to fighters despite the meta heavily shifting, no more interestiny content other than the usual. I'm bound to uninstall once again if I don't get Hex Caliber, since that's all what I care about now, that's all what the game made me care about now.

@pariipriyu2100 Unfortunately, everything you said is true 😔 it's sad that HV is just following the "META" of how to keep your game alive. Endless subscriptions and battle passes. I'm at the acceptance phase, I don't make any ad revenue anymore, so I can't just dump money to them anymore. Now, I'm just here for the ride. At least skullgirls is growing, I guess.

I truly wish they'll make the rest of the year a bit interesting with the things promised in the roadmap y'know, something else to cover other than the sad state of monthly fighters. It's been fun, just hoping they'll make the ride wilder for us tagging along.
