Nice video brother. One tip I’ll offer is this: At the end of your videos you should ALWAYS give a call to action. If you have another video on a similar topic, direct them to it at the end of the video and place that video as your endscreen. This will keep more people on your channel and it will tremendously help to grow your channel. The content is solid. Good job man. Keep at it 👊🏼

Some of these carpet tiles can be quite thick, actually. I'm installing a thick carpet tile in my home office, and it's almost like thick wall-to-wall carpet. Pretty sweet!
@HomeRapidRepair
@HomeRapidRepair Ай бұрын
Oh nice. I’ve only seen the thinner ones. They lay down perfectly flat and seem super durable. But if someone wanted “soft” they wouldn’t pick the thin ones. Thin is still great for many applications like workout rooms, nursery, entrances, etc 🏠

@@edsanville I'm searching for thicker carpet tiles but I haven't found a brand yet. Would also like a brand you can blend in the seams.

@@Pete-rs4yz For my home office, I installed the "TRAFFICMASTER Mesa - Boulder - Beige Residential 18 x 18 in. Peel and Stick Carpet Tile Square (22.5 sq. ft.)" from Home Depot. I'm quite satisfied with the thickness, although you can see the seams in some places. It's not a huge problem for my application, though. The trick is to make sure you brush the carpet yarn material back when you glue down the next tile, so none of the yarn gets stuck underneath the neighboring tile.

This room is a home office and the carpet tiles are holding up great. You can’t even see the seams unless you’re trying to find them. It’s a great product and they all stay in place perfectly 😊. Now if it’s a super active child care center or something I’m not sure. 🤔

I’ve gotten this question before. As long as your old carpet is very flat, you may like the results. My concern would be at the edges the new carpet tiles edges may tend to tip up when walked on them or furniture’s placed on them. They really are designed to go over a flat subfloor…

I’m sure you can if you want to, However carpet tiles over such a squishy underlayment would likely cause the edges to tip up when walked on. You could purchase just 1 box and test it. Good luck.

Question, how well does the seams of each tile blend together after installation? Can you see the individual tiles when looking into the room?
@HomeRapidRepair
@HomeRapidRepair Ай бұрын
Great question. The seams hold up really well, we have vacuumed these rooms many times without any problem at all. Yes I would say you can see the seams if you look down for them, it also depends at what angle you’re viewing the flooring from and the direction of the light in the room. Some people use this as an advantage. Since they pick two different carpet tiles and make a pattern out of it or something. But even being able to see the seams it still looks very nice. Good luck 🏠

Yes I think you’ll be totally fine directly over concrete. Carpet tiles will never be as soft as traditional carpet with pad, but it has so many other advantages. It is worth it for sure.

@HomeRapidRepair
@HomeRapidRepair 24 күн бұрын
Those self adhesive pressure pads came with the carpet tile box kit. It’s a lot easier to work with than carpet glue. These carpet tiles are actually not stuck to the subfloor. They are stuck to each other so the corners don’t lift 😊🏠

Great video, thank you! Quick question - do you tuck the tiles under the baseboard (like traditional carpet) or have them butt up to them? It looks like you measured and cut to the baseboards. I couldn't tell if your baseboards were installed a little lower (than normal) because you were not going under. Cheers.
@HomeRapidRepair
@HomeRapidRepair 10 ай бұрын
Great question. These baseboards are low so just butting the carpet up to it closed up nicely. No gaps. If your baseboards are too high sliding underneath would be nice and hopefully no gaps. This stuff is so easy to work with 🛠️🛠️

Hi, just to confirm, the stickers are the only thing holding the carpet together and to the subfloor? There’s no additional adhesive needed or peal and stick on the back of the tiles? Thank you
@HomeRapidRepair
@HomeRapidRepair 7 ай бұрын
That is correct. I have seen some carpet tiles with peel & stick backing. However, it’s not necessary with this one and most of them. This is technically a floating floor, the sticky tabs are literally only holding the corners down so when you vacuum and things like that, they don’t pop up. It works very good. We have not had any problems at all. Good luck 👍🏼🛠️

I honestly don’t think so. Do you run a dehumidifier in the summer? A moisture barrier test you can run is cut a square of plastic (like 2x2 foot) tape it securely down to the concrete floor. Check it in a few days if water droplets / condensation has formed under the plastic sheeting 🛠️🛠️
