They have carpet squares that don't have glue on them. They sell tape that doesn't adhere to the floor but only the tiles ( one sided tape ). The tape is 6inch squares and used in each corner of the carpet squares. This holds them together. Mostly gravity, will work to hold them in place if your going from wall to wall. I installed flooring 40yrs. Hit me up if you have questions. Good day.

Tiles are still cheaper than carpet because with regular carpet you still have to buy the foam, whereas the foam is already included on the tiles. Plus you need floor staples/nails and carpeting tools to make sure the carpet is not loose or bumpy. But with tiles, as you can see in this video, you don't need much more than a blade and straight edge. Tiles are easier and faster to install than carpets. I wish we knew about this option when we had to recarpet a couple of our rooms. The other thing that I like is that if one area of the carpet gets a bad stain on the floor, I bet its easy to replace that one section.

Can you see seams or anything with these?
@HacksbyDad
@HacksbyDad 3 жыл бұрын
Great question! At first, the seams will be visible but will slowly disappear after repeated traffic and vacuuming. The seams won't completely disappear but most people won't notice them unless they are focused on finding them. Tip #1 on brushing the fibers and pile away from the seams as you install the carpet tiles will help decrease the visibility. Fibers and pile trapped between the tiles will make the seam stand out. Thanks for the question. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video.

I didnt intend to imply its a bad product, Its not and actually seems to survive longer than when padded and stretched. Sorry, I didnt clarify but i was actually referring to after it needs to be removed for remodeling etc.. often it can be a real a bear to remove especially if commercial grade glues are involved. Over the years its been the cause of some of my most frustrated and comical moments. Just trying to figure out better and quicker ways to get it done has lead to some dandy memories.
