New Focus Izalco Max (review series): comments before 1st ride, comparing with my personal bike

Before my first ride on the latest Focus Izalco Max (the 9.9 - with Shimano Dura-Ace) I took a moment to capture some shots of it and offer a little bit of context of why this bike test / review is a little different for me.
The previous release of this bike is what I've ridden as "my bike" since October 2019. Now, it's time to get familiar with something I have been very familiar with... only now it's different. It's the NEW Izalco Max. And I've got one to ride.
I did that. It was great. I'll tell you about it later. For now... here is my introduction to the bike, not "my bike". Not yet. (Even though it is, as I'm still a proud owner of an Izalco Max.)
This is an introduction to what will be an ongoing series for the next little while.
