I love this card but I don't have a mink machine, can you heat it any other way such as a heat gun for embossing and does it have to be toner ink, will the foil adhere to anything else?

The other way to do this would be a really hot Laminator. But…If you need another hack to do this… use Aleenes Tack-It Over & Over Repositionable Adhesive glue. Paint it on the areas you want and let it dry tacky. Put the transfer foil over the tacky surface and rub and press the foil with your finger. Then peel the foil back. You can achieve close to the same results with that method if you get it rubbed on really good. Hope this helps. The Minc mini is really a great machine for foiling. 🥰 And so easy to do. Have a wonderful evening. 🙂

I love the ranger transfer foils my preferred. But any transfer/ rub on foils will work. Cricut foils scratches too easily and not my favorite but they do work. You can use deco foil but I still love the look of the Ranger foils and they don’t scratch easy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗

Hello. ❤️ You absolutely could do that if you wish too, just put out only a little bit of toner at a time because it will dry out QUICKLY. That’s the reason why I put the toner in the brush, to keep it from drying out and keeps the toner in top usable condition. It creates less waste that way. Hope that makes sense. ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗

Love this card and the technique for using the watercolor pen to apply toner ink. Thank you for sharing! I’m curious as I’ve never done foiling and I have a laminator. Is there some advantage to using a MINC machine instead of a laminating machine for foiling?

Thank you so much Cynthia. ❤️ The Minc has up to 5 different heat settings which I definitely use for foiling different ways as you will see in my different videos. The Minc is a much smoother and full foil application. When using a laminator, if it doesn’t get hot enough, it can leave black spots in your foiling. The Minc has definitely impressed me. Awww thank you Carol. ❤️❤️ You can try to do lettering this way. If you find the toner doesn’t come out of your brush fast enough for lettering, just dip the brush bristles in the toner to get easier coverage. Put some toner in a tiny sealable bottle and dip your brush in that and keep it capped up when not using so it doesn’t dry out. Hope this makes senses. 🤗🤗❤️❤️

Hello Bettye. ❤️ Yes, it dries very fast. ❤️❤️ Let it dry completely before running it through. By the time I got everything colored and my brush put away, it was already dry. It dries very quickly since it’s not applied super thick. A nice even coating is all you need. ❤️❤️❤️

Hello Annie. ❤️ I’m so happy you’re loving this technique. 🤗🤗The toner may melt onto your clear plastic folder if you send it through with nothing over it and it will also harden/set the toner. That’s why I ran everything through at one time. I was afraid of that happening. Once the toner has been heated once, it’s pretty much impossible to get foil to stick to it properly. I’ve tried to do patch jobs before where the toner was peeking through in a project and it just doesn’t want to stick ran through a second time. I hope all this makes sense. If I ever come up with a way to make this work, I will let you know. ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗

Awesome question Kelley! Without a doubt foiling with toner. I foil with toner a lot more than hot foil and enjoy it more. Beautiful card! But just a question about cleaning things from the toner ink. How do you do that? Because I know in the Netherlands toner ink is chemical waist and can’t be disposed of in the garbage bin. So washing it clean under running water is a absolute no go.

I tried this last night it didn't work well, so what kind of ink did u use to stamp the image & how long does it take for the toner to dry, & how long til u can put it thru the mink machine?

I used Gina K Designs Amalgam ink in the the color “Obsidian” to stamp the image. This is the only black ink I use in ALL my videos because it’s the best ink ever in my opinion. If you can touch the ink with you fingers and it comes off on you then it isn’t dry. Give it a little bit to dry before touching it to check for dryness. Don’t apply too thin or foil won’t stick. If not dry when running through the Minc the foil won’t stick either. Hope this helps you. ❤️❤️

If your laminator gets really hot then it can work, but the Minc machine is absolutely fabulous and you get amazing results with it. You may end up with black spotting using a laminator. Minc gives you a full foil. ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗
