Got the casting rod 7'2" medium fast and it's a sick rod. Feels closer to a medium heavy like it hit that sweet spot between that sensitive flex and backbone. Hooked into a 40" musky last weekend and the bend on that rod was just absolutely gorgeous so satisfying, was never worried I was losing that tank. Paired it with the Curado DC and it's ridiculous, looks like a setup made from the future. Great rod for senko fishing, drop shotting, jigging, finessing, crankbait, jerkbait. Have a 7' mojo bass in medium heavy paired with the SLX DC exclusively for top water finessing. Seriously the only 2 rods I ever use, I hardly touch my spinners nowadays

Great video👍 Have a Bass One XT to one of my 151HG DC thinking of complementing with a Curado rod to the other one.🤔

Just got mine delivered today my God is this rod beautiful! It feels real good in the hand. Very similar to the zodias but definitely not the same rod the zodias is definitely a tad bit lighter. I will say if you're considering buying a Intenza I would skip that rod spend the extra money and go for this Curado it is definitely a bang for the buck you can't beat it!

I'm actually more stoked for this line up knowing they really are a Zodias rod now. I like the carbon monocoque handles but the Eva foam is more comfortable and my style. I don't always need maximum sensitivity when yesterday my old zodias was being smashed on an underspin.

and at a better price point! They are very similar to Zodias for sure

Very interested in the weight of the Curado 7'6" L spinning. It's looking like this blank over the Zodias due to availability - will be using solely for marabou and spybaits
@JPDeRoseOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
That's a great choice as is the 7' Light. Better casting distance with the 7'6"!

why Ton of Carbon have the blank?

This rod reminds me a ton of the Diawa Arid x rod just with a different color scheme.

Hi JP , I went to buy one today and I realized that the Curado rods only says the power and doesn’t say anything about the action of the rod . Why is that ? Thanks
@JPDeRoseOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I believe they are mostly fast action with the exception of the cranking glass rods with some exceptions but the actions are all listed on the site. fish.shimano.com/content/fish/northamerica/us/en/homepage/Shimano_Product_Page.P-CURADO_CASTING_A.html#product_image_2

JP do you think this would be good for crankbait paired with tranx 200?
@JPDeRoseOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Great combo just make sure you match the rod to the diving depth of the crank you want to use.... typically the lighter the power, the shallower the crank, the heavier rods like MH and H are for the bigger deeper digging cranks

JP, where does the curado and the zodius differ? Their price points look and feel very similar as do a lot of their actions and powers. Are they one in the same or are they actually two very different rods?
@JPDeRoseOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
They are very similar Nick. New guides on the Curado rod but all in all feel very similar and the best part is they are lower price than the previous Zodias

Can iuse a 7 5 medium heavy as a crankbait rod
@JPDeRoseOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the model and action. Power and Action are two very different things when picking a reaction bait rod. Power is for the weight of the lure and line. Action is designed for the technique. Moderate or moderate fast actions are typically used for cranking.

So they (Shimano) bump up the price of the zodias and this to fill the gap where zodias price point used to be right?
@JPDeRoseOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
No, they upgraded Zodias to the monocoque handle and this rod replaces it in the price point but it's actually a little less

You can't buy Sprial X rods for $179. Never could. The Sprial X offerings are Poison Adrena, Conquest and the new NRX+ in freshwater. Not exactly in everyone's price range.
