To me, the name Ford Capri means Cortina sized fast cars that younger people would want.

Yes, it should be a fast back coupe, really, in order to live up to the heritage of its name. In and of itself, it’s a great electric SUV.

I like this car, especially the front end. I wonder if Ford will have a coupe in the range, to rival the BMW 2 Series, but on a budget. I know that coupes aren't big sellers any more, compared to the trendy SUV. Keep up the good work guys.

Thanks, Matt. It’s a great SUV in its own right, but it feels like it should have its own nameplate though - maybe Gran Capri? What are your thoughts?

@@PlanetautoUK I fully agree, the people of our generation will always have a love for its Predecessors. That’s a good idea for the a name plate. :)

Audio is very difficult to hear - the external mic must’ve disconnected. But … the influences ? Such as - the C-shaped rear sidelight window is tiny - not in proportion to any of the Capris, not even the Consul. The writing on the back is Sierra - though they did spread that font around afterwards ! Did the Capri ever get that font though ? Don’t think sooo. Really, they should probably have called it Sierra! Utter stupidity and ignorance to have put the Capri name on it - and say that the Legend is Reborn !!

The mic had to compete with a crowd as well as audio from the video - My 85 Sierra’ didn’t have that, Capri graphics and t’s had similar to the rear, yet the car didn’t seem to at least not in the UK. It should have had its own name plate or been a car.

Come on if you are reviving a name like Capri , why not bring it out as an electric coupe . MG has bought out an electric sports car , Ford have missed a trick here . To me the capri is a fast back sports coupe keep it that way . Another SUV that just looks like any other SUV , it’s probably based on a VW ID 3 or 4 , as Ford are using VW platforms

Yes, it needs its own name, or they do what Honda, did with the new Prelude - it’s a decent SUV, why not call it Grand Capri or similar, thank you Robert

@@PlanetautoUK junk cars as all fords are. all escorts pos all sierras pos. all mondeos and focus pos. i've driven over 1 million miles since 1979. every single ford i have owned and driven has been junk. including a brand new s550 2016 mustang gt i bought foolishly and sold on and bought gen6 camaro 2ss. ford make junk cars that rust away and fall to bits and drive like crap,.
