Great guide for newer players, one nitpick to help everyone though: at around 18:25 you mention not being able to offtick things from some pillars/sides, you can offtick from behind any side of any pillar! It does matter what direction you go out though! For the middle tile offtick you use, you can always click the NPC at the back and it will drag you out the correct side, however if you don't want to have to re click that fast to change target, you can just go out of the west side if you're north/south of a pillar, and the south side if you're stood west/east. There are many many more useful offticks and unstacks for colo specifically, but this one does 70% of the work, and is also the classic offtick used for the inferno :)

Very good guide, the thing i struggle most with in the colosseum is adapting quickly to changing sides of the pillar or to another pillar while monsters are coming, to avoid getting stacked by 2-3 monsters at same time

That's the issue I had too mate, I found taking time to make a decision almost always killed me. Now if I have a potential bad spawn, I just move pillars quickly and drink a brew on the way. I sometimes waste a few sips but the frustration of potentially dying is worse IMO. Is has this horrible way of making you feel like you have the colosseum under control, then one thing happens and your in the lobby.

For anyone curious, you are able to off-tic any 2 different stacked creatures (range/mage or even manticore thats different attack style than whats in front/behind), so if you stand on the middle tile of a pillar, and head either South or West from a pillar (depending where you're at) and pray against whatever is the 2nd from you (or behind the closest one) it will attack 1tic before the thing in front (this was briefly explained in this video about a manticore and ranger) you can step out to a corner tile, and whenever you get there, instantly prayer swap to whatever is in front, and you have that stack solved... there is also a way to make this work for a 3 stack, but it's slightly harder and I'd suggest just restacking on a new pillar

20:56 Not sure if someone explained it already, but you can off tick the mage/ranger who stand on the 2nd and 3rd stack. Stand 1 tile away from the middle marked tile at the pillar and the mager will hit you first followed by the ranger

Hey, could you do a guide on how someone could do just enough of the Colosseum for 16k or 20k glory - i.e. not completing it, maybe even deliberately dying early - for someone with low 70s combat stats, 43 prayer, and a 1-5m budget? I have a feeling loads of people only care about a disease-free herb patch, but I've seen no guides that focus on this aspect.

My PB so far has been wave 9 completion. I knew most of the things in your guide, but you explaining how to unstack most stacks and make sure that you only get attacked by a single npc at a time will hopefully be the key to beating colosseum for me. Thanks! One question, I have the same melee gear as you, but have virtus + shadow. Which npc's should I kill with shadow, which with blood barrage and which with fang + blood fury? So far I do frems with blood/ice barrage shaman with shadow jaguar with blood barrage if I need hp, otherwise shadow shadow on everything else with the occassional blood barrage. Should I melee some of the npc's instead?

I've sold my shadow a while back so I'd hate to give you some bad advice. I personally find melee is a lot more accurate than magic and magic is really bad against Javelins, not great v manticores or shockwaves but then the shadow does own.

Something to look in to, not sure if it works or not, if you stand 1 or 2 tiles away from the pillar on the left side when there is a shaman reinforcement it might allow you to tank 1 hit but always let the shaman be behind the melee enemy. I saw Gnomonkey doing it but it was in a different position so I’m not sure if the same setup works here.

Sang staff will increase dps a little bit when you get a Manticore or javelin away from a pillar at the start, but range is even better against those. I find the blood fury is enough heals, but no harm at all in bringing it for more.

You start with your prayer on the one it is going to fires and as soon as you see that projectile move (or hear the noise), you switch to the next protection prayer and then slowly click the final one straight after about half a second later.

Apart from wave one which is always splinters, I believe you can get uniques on any wave it's just more likely the further you get.

Thanks mate, it's just the timing of moving from 1 to 2 and then it's purely down to luck. I also found the biggest improvement I did was simply being decisive and moving quickly on a bad spawn.

I'd bring mage no matter what to freeze the fremenniks, I find killing them normally makes a bad spawn much harder. If you have a t bow I'd bring 2 x 4/6 way switches for range and melee. T bow is good against everything apart from the Fremenniks and jaguar warrior, everything else has 200+ mage.

This is good. Could this method be feasible with zaryte and Ely camping. Or is freezes and melee almost necessary? I haven’t seen/heard anyone doing this in full tank ranged or whatever.

You can range any of these creatures, in fact most are much quicker to kill with range than magic. However you are meleeing most of the time, so range is only really useful for the first creature you kill at the start of each wave if it's away from the pillar. Plus when you are killing a creature in the safe spot because it has a shaman behind it. A range switch will increase the speed you do all of the waves, it just isn't necessary if you are learning, in which case I'd bring more supplies. Hope that helps

Well, if you're asking do you need mage, yes. The freminik warband would make this so cringy without freezes or a shadow to kill that asshole berserker (the melee one). If you follow the guide, only 2 scenarios come up that require flicking, when two off-style span on A and B spawns inbetween the south pillars). So tanking isn't really necessary in this.

Oh sorry mate, I miss read that. Without freezes the fremeniks means a lot of switching. It's possible and a lot of people do it that way, but does make the start a lot more difficult on the bad spawns.@@redrepublic5557

Problem i'm having is that the rangers and magers can attack me at the same time when i come out from spot 1 to attack them, since they're behind the pillar. Idk what i'm doing wrong tbh.

If you can get attacked by a mage and range and they are on the same tick (or your not sure), pray mage if the mage is the shockwave or range if it's the shaman. Then on the way to the pillar drink a dose of brew if the first hit you tank is a big one. When you get to the pillar you can then heal up with your blood fury/barrage. There should only be 1-2 bad spawns per run, so don't worry about using supplies when it happens, you shouldn't need them anywhere else.

Always pray the manticore then switch pray to the other afte rthe manticore finishes. The manticore always starts with range or magic, so there's a 50/50 chance you block both of them by just concentrating on the manticore. If not it's highly unlikely to kill you as long as you are decisive. I find if you move to pillars early you are fine, it's when you take a while to decide and by then your low health and try to move, then you die. @@RCShenanigans

Thanks mate, yeah wave 6 was the wave that took me a while to get past initially. I think it's because you have a mage and melee spawn after 40/45 seconds as well as 4 other creatures. Waves 7 and 8 are actually easier than 6 in my opinion.
