Here's the thing about the orbs. First off, it's not FTP friendly. The most I've seen in a drop was 10 and it happened twice. Have gotten a couple of 8s, but other than that it has been 1/2 every single time. I haven't spent a dime in this game and haven't pulled a 100, and I've collected web rewards every single day. We can put that to bed straight away. What I can also tell you is my Surfer is at 6* in less than a month of play from these orbs. In Raid Shadow Legends, you get a .5%% chance at a legendary champion for Ancient (the worst for pulling legendaries) shards and a 6% chance with Sacred shards. Keep in mind, this game also has a pity system, where if you pull enough of these, the % chance increases for each shard opened after hitting pity. You can actually get to a point where you're getting these daily mind you, through progressing in the clan boss damage. I'm at a point ON TWO accounts where I have over 100 ancient shards and quite a few sacreds. Hell, you actually have a real good chance to pull multiples of these on a daily basis. In MSF, for Sentinel you get a .4% chance at a 100 shard drop and a 1.2% chance at a 10 shard drop with no pity system in the game. That's insane to me. The Annihilator orb, .13% at Gladiator, Thanos, and Gorr 100 drops, and a 1.45% chance at a 10 drop. I don't understand how you have a character shard system that has drop rates that are worse than a game where you pull heroes straight away, you don't have to collect shards of a character. Not only that, are introducing content aimed specifically at having said characters. Not only are Raid's pull rates better straight out of the gate, they don't content lock ANYTHING in regards to characters. Oh and another thing, Raid runs 2x chance at epic and legendary champs all the time, along with increase pull rates for specific champs. This game does NONE of that. No 2x chance No specific hero chance increases No pity system By far the most predatory opening system I've ever seen in a game like this.

I opened 23 thanos orbs I got 1 shard screw scopley. They making a separation between spenders, heavy spenders and krackens. If my spending isn't enough to compete at the highest level I'm 124 million tcp then I'm not going to spend at all. I'm not buying battle passes anymore and I'm probably just going to sale my account soon after unlocking odin and getting to 130. I'll get a 10th of my money back but it's better than nothing. Just done with scopley and there greed.

They’ve always had dynamic drop rates. And its easily proven from in game behaviour, previously it was set at I’d get a higher drop rate for say psionic essence but very low ritual salts and you’ll get high drop rate for the salts but lower for the essence. It’s using the slot machine loop hole to say that across the player base the drop rates are as advertised so it’s not technically breaking laws about lootboxes. With the new meta they’ve actually seemed to got even eviler with it, when a new character comes in the lower the drop rate of that unique for a month or two before bringing it back up. And from what I’ve seen it’s the spenders that are getting the 100 drop rates out of these shit orbs, none of the f2p players I know have gotten one but all the people that brought the characters day one do get it

I used to play a game called MLB Tap Baseball and their algorithm was skewed so if your account was dormant for 30ish days and came back, you’d get bombarded with all the best drops. I’ve got a reverse theory to that for instance I bought both nimrod and omega sentinel I have pulled 100 on nimrod 3 times and 100 on omega sentinel once. Meanwhile I did not purchase thanos and I haven’t pulled more than 1 shard for him in every let’s say 10 orbs I open. To me it’s improved drop rates if you have spent at least $50 on a character. And if you have spent nothing well screw you commander.

I’m F2P, an every day player, and I’ve never got a big drop from these new orbs. I’ve not even seen a 10 from any ORCHIS orb. Right now, I’m sitting on 12k cores, 8k gold training mats, and 112M gold. I’ve built up all the current teams to Lv 100 G18, and not going to build old teams that aren’t useful. I’ve got nothing to build waiting for the F2P unlocks. I don’t want to spend cores for unlocking, because I never know when cores are going to need for milestones.

MobileGamer's 4 year old "I'm Quitting Galaxy of Heroes" video just showed up in my KZbin feed. Rewatching me it struck me that, the script has flipped on these games with Scopely focusing on the cash grab and SWGOH putting out interesting new game modes and content. Personally, I recently quit MSF and am still playing SWGOH. Thanks to MobileGamer for the great/useful/entertaining content over the years, but probably won't be watching much anymore (unless you come back to SWGOH 😀) SWGOH has come a long way since then and MSF is much worse, especially with recent developments. The new raids that change frequently, Galactic Challenges, and Conquest are all interesting game modes. I have come around on datacrons, as they're a bit like room bonuses in MSF CC, but with more player agency and they keep the GAC meta fresh. Character release is slower than MSF, but the game balance is better, and it slows down the power creep. Just my 2 cents.
