WAY back in the day when I upgraded my Jeep's suspension, I tried to swap out the shackle bushings with new poly units and greaseable bolts- awesome upgrade BTW. I tried to use a press, NO GO. I didnt want to use a torch to heat them up so what we chose to do was drill the rubber bushings. I went around the sleeve about a dozen times until basically the rubber was all gone, hammered out the rest. It was a bitch! I recommend getting some antisieze and coating EVERYTHING with it when you put it back together, especially if you have to worry about rust. Another upgrade I recommend you do- fab up some sway bar disconnects! seriously. Between the grease-able shackles and the disconnected sway-bar, off-road I had plenty of front flex. Makes a huge difference.
