NEW FUEL SENDER INSTALL WITH FAKE (THEN REAL) WALBRO 255 - LS1 VL CALAIS PROJECT

In this episode I modify and install a new VL to VN EFI fuel tank sender (from Rare Spares) and a Walbro 255 in tank pump. Unfortunately I find out the hard way the pump is actually a cheap copy. Then I do some pump performance testing, before installing a real Walbro 255.
Real Walbro pumps should be from TI Automotive. My fake pump weighed 290grams, and the real pump weighed 358grams and contained preservation oil.

I’d recommend putting on hose clamps on those push lock fittings, I’ve heard many cases of them popping off even though you might think they’re on tight . you’d better be safe than sorry

Make sure you get one labelled as TI Automotive. They are the real ones. Also make sure it comes with a new harness plug.

Great video, I learnt a lot. Interesting to see the bucket fill test by time. Did you suss out and fix the fuel level sender in the dash so it shows 100% full with a full tank ? Is that some reset on the resistance readings or is it the sender is bent or something?

So do you have two fuel regulators?? One at tank and one at rail? Thank
