Today I'm checking out the new fusion champion, Packmaster Shy'ek, and giving my initial thoughts on whether or not he is worth going for in Raid: Shadow Legends!

I absolutely love that he will synergize with dog type champions. It's a cool idea even if there aren't any broken combinations with it.

I've been advocating for synergy kits just like this for a couple of years now where Legendaries gain benefits from lower rarity teammates. I hope this synergy concept gets used more often in future champs.

To be fair we don't know if a new hound champ is gonna come out, which is why you can't definitively say it's trash, but functionally yeah, I'd say this is a great maud fusion.

I'll go for him, enjoy playing the game, so nice to have something else to focus on on top of the Marius missions xD He seems, 'okay' at the moment, but he might improve depending on what is added to his 'Hound Roster' in the future :) Thanks for the info, Nubs! If his A-3 also had, “ can not remove,” I would go for him. That would be very valuable. I appreciate the outside the box approach on this champ. Honestly having to run him with one of the dogs in end game or late game to get the whole value of his kit is a no go for me. It is creative.

It's an interesting set of abilities for sure, quite unique which will make him desirable. I haven't finished my orc FW yet so will get him either way I think. Worth noting though, that is 3 tanky support champs in a row from fusions even if the player base did select one.

I'm think Cursed Set + Retaliation Set for this guy (im under the assumption that the hex ability just deals more damage for all ally attacks and not just the ally attack skill) and he could be a decent hydra champ and phantom grove. Given that we always get a chance at a high blessing after the fusion and he could be decent for progression in those 2 areas. Might get him but I'm also on holiday during the fusion so I wont try too hard

I would love to see a sacred order st Bernard dog. Something like whenever he attacks when its not his turn, heals allies the amount equal to the damage or something similar. Give him counterattack and a shield and counterattack buff skill and there you go.

He is very strong for hydra, even without the pack, as he checks a bunch of boxes. Block debuffs without a hit is amazing.

I'd consider double fellhound if manageable - in in cursed, 1 in provoke....sort of a budget oboro/mikage team.

vs Fire Knight in CoS if you were to bring in Fellhound/Goremask that's potentially 5 reflect pings and 3 counter attack pings from the A1s off Hex that hit Fyro's shield. 8 free hits isn't bad least of all as an earlier player for CoS. EDIT Stitched Beast is another 2 hits and and a 100% TM drop on his a3. Deadrise 14 regular Fyro/Gryphon does have Orcs as one of the potential factions in the last 2 rotations.

Watched both your and Hellhades vids on this...interesting you both refer to it as FOMO extreme. I personally love having in-game options to do off-beat things. This seems like just a really fun opportunity to have fun in the game. The framing by CCs that each fusion either has to be the most broken champ or a complete skip is an odd landing spot.

It is fomo tho. Sure the champ seems fun, but even plarium themselves are aware of how the synergies with dogs is kind if sub par, so they hint the addition of a new strong hound champion. This creates fomo as people who initially weren’t convinced, will now feel forced to do fusion just incase plarium decides to have a guaranteed or free login champ that’s a hound.

@@peanutbutter4166 Or, what if the plan all along is say; -> Packmaster fusion event -> Packmaster 5* soul event for 4-5+ days after the last fusion event/s finish... who knows, maybe even a 2 week long Titan event with a Stitched Beast + Fellhound among the various milestone rewards? -> Surprise!! NEW! free log-in Legendary Champ a week or two later who is fairly average on his own, but gets pants-on-head bonkers OP when paired with the Packmaster!? -> 3 various Summoning events over the next 4-5 weeks, including a Summon Pool w/Packmaster featured + a 15x progressive chance with Packmaster + 2x Ancients odds w/10x chance at Packmaster... Would probably be a good way to really milk the $$$ out of both new players AND anyone who skipped out on the fusion when it was available. ;-)

Regarding retaliation for his A1, Mikage doesn't join up with a Shadowkin ally when she retaliates/counter attacks, nor brought in for an ally attack. She has to be on her turn for it to work, so I'd say it will be the same for Packmaster.

Even if it's ally attacks, with that taunt + passive, and the A1, he's bringing a lot of ally attacks to the table himself for the damage buff depending on the number of enemies and the number of dogs

I never had a taunt champion so I didn't even know that taunt prevents hydra heads from devouring. Good info thanks for that! Before your video I thought he's shit but he is actually a good addition to any account I'd say. He isn't great (3 turn cd on block buffs isn't optimal) but he does so much stuff that helps the team he is at least decent.

I wonder if they're going to make a mythical dog to pair with him. It would be cool to have a mythic fusion event, so then everyone has the chance to get it if that's the case. At least a legendary dog that is a guaranteed or fusion, but myrhic would be cool!

That’s a really cool fragment, if you take out the hound synergy, you have a pretty solid champ, balanced, not really OP in any way. And then the hound synergy just looks really fun to play with, it’s not gonna be broken, but it’s gonna be fun.

For people still struggling with content I can absolutely see where this guy and some Fellhounds in Stun sets would just grind through just about anything. It might take a while but if you are unable to progress that tactic works at most levels and this guy seems to crank that up quite a bit. Sucks that they made him an orc since there aren't any AOE dogs in Orcs so not much use in Cursed City where I need help but definitely a bonus tactic for a lot of newer accounts if they need it.

I was thinking a Cursed set for Fellhound myself, plus give him the new Nature's Bounty blessing to boost the A1 decrease speed to the big version The Packmaster's Hex ability is only for 1 turn, and won't trigger vs. decapitated heads? Plus, he's already brining a 2 turn Taunt on a 3 turn cooldown

He should have been released alongside a legendary dog. Also, he should have a dog revive. All the dogs are super squishy so I don't think this will work at all without him having some sort of passive revive for dogs, I'm thinking along the lines of how Var-Gall works. Skipping this unless there's some stupid hidden O.P team for hard content. I'll be pretty annoyed though if a decent dog is released after this guy's fusion, people skipping will be gambling that the next dog release is crap.

I plan to skip this fusion because I don’t use the dogs and I’m not building the dogs for this champion. Also I don’t care about any new dogs that are coming to the game. I will get this champion if I summon him from a shard. Then I will have him. I get to run a lot of Minotaur, potion keeps and gear cleansing.
