Fun fact: The two bits sticking out of the top of the emiter is to represent Anakin's saber and the pummel represents Obi Wan's saber. Dave Filoni (creater of the Clone Wars) designed Ahsoka's saber like this because both jedi are mentors of her during the series.

The smaller saber is known as a shoto lightsaber. They are typically used by smaller Jedi species like yoda so that it fits better to their size, however many dual wielders use them in their off hand as a lighter and more nimble saber that can easily be moved into defensive positions for blocking, while the main saber is used more offensively.

So Ahsoka’s originally only had the bigger one, but the shoto lightsaber, the smaller one, was gifted to her by Anakin. Because of Ahsoka’s fighting style, she was very dependent on her big lightsaber and really could only defend herself in a fight. But because she was gifted the second saber, she became more aggressive and dependent on both her sabers and she was able to win a fight more often with the shoto lightsaber.

@@FindingTheForce I have 2 anakin sabers from revenge of the sith I am willing to sell my extra if you want my extra I can sell it to you but my extra has scratches and the pommel won’t fit on it so I made a custom pommel to fit it I can repair/ restore it with paint etc... I am going to paint the buttons to make them look new again but the hilt I can leave the scratches and stuff from the previous owner or I can fill them with bondo and paint it chrome but it won’t be as shiny as it came and I can install it with electronics if you want. Are you interested?

Shoto hilt is the shorter one which has a shorter blade compared to the larger hilt with a longer blade. Considering she was Anakin‘s apprentice and for reasons I won’t go into why Anakin repaired them and made them “better“, it stands to reason that he would’ve added a bit of himself to the hilts. I mean he’s always seen the lightsaber for what it is a weapon which is why his episode 3 hilt (which he uses in clone wars) is shaped more like a baton. Ahsoka is easily one of my favourite characters and I love both her sabers, Although that said I do favour the katanas more (Ahsoka Rebels). Ahsoka’s fighting style is also one of my favourites especially considering at the start of clone wars she was a single bladed user before going over to duel single blade. Do you know which lightsabers are getting retired from galaxies edge soon? There was an article that came out that some of them are getting retired and I believe Dooku is the next Legacy lightsaber to be released, I could be wrong on that latter part though.

@@FindingTheForce Basically what happens in TCW is a lot of time jumping halfway through season 3, eventually it’s on Ashoka’s hip. I can definitely tell you it’s before the halfway point of season 3. There is no real story explanation however you don’t see her constructing the shoto lightsaber either, again none of this happens on screen it’s just there. I don’t really want to spoil anything for Landon Because going through clone wars episodically is very non-canon (it gets very confusing). You pretty much have to have an episode guide if you want to go for it chronologically, it’s why I always go through it in release order. I’ve also started re-watching it within the last couple of days. 😜 The only time you see Ventress link her lightsabers together is in the clone wars movie, in her battle with Obi-Wan but he damages the link by slitting it down the middle with his lightsaber (pardon the expression). I just wanted to add this about Ventress just to give some extra information on something I noticed when watching the movie for the third time. Sorry “dad“ that I can’t give you an explanation regarding Ashoka, don’t worry I would’ve loved to have seen Ashoka construct the shoto lightsaber also. Within my second or third watch of the show I was getting very analytical. Ashoka also changes costume in season three comparing the one that she had in seasons one and two, again it just boils down to there is a massive time jump during the halfway point of S3 of the show. It’s also a turning point because it’s when the show gets darker because you’re ever nearing the events of Revenge of the Sith, one story arc even has a big massive d*ck tease too, This is the one by time jump to specifically. Remember the clone wars only really lasted for three years before the political shift and the shift in the Galaxy overall.

Great review video! In my opinion I definitely have a problem with these lightsabers, and that reason is the green lightsaber sounds... Now these light sabers are from the clone wars which is the prequel‘s but they have the original Star Wars light saber sounds which in my opinion doesn’t make sense because these sabers are from the prequels, the originals and I really do not like that the clashing sound affects are the exact same as the Disney land/ world and downtown Disney store Star Wars buildable lightsabers. These are supposed to be really accurate light sabers to the films or shows and I am disappointed in that, but I still love these sabers and I hope I get them.

Just subscribed, love the content! Asking for advice, I am going to Galaxy edge in March and have reservations for Savi’s and build a droid with my 3 y/o daughter. Love the idea of color change Kyber crystals with Savi, and I know the experience of both has its value. I am now considering the new Ashoka sabers that allow the color change as you reviewed and be able to duel with her and play. I am on a budget of under $400, so should I give up my previous plans and get the saber and droid, or the legacy sabers (if in stock), they would be pretty close in pricing. Any recommendations would be appreciated , keep ip the great content!

If you have not already, I recommend checking out our channel comparing the legacy savers to the custom handbuilt ones. Savi's it's really a fun and fantastic experience which we also have a video of on our channel. However, to be honest I am not super thrilled with the lightsabers and we do not use them often. They are super chunky and they weigh almost 5 pounds. However switching the crystals is pretty fun! Building a droid is also a really fun and memorable experience, but like most remote controlled cars they get brushed to the side after kids play with them for a few weeks and get bored. This was actually a very difficult choice I also had to make on our first trip! I thought about it for weeks. We ended up getting our favorite characters sabers from the legacy series, and our following trip the next year we built the Savi's sabers. The rest is up to you bud. You kind of have to go with your gut instinct. One idea is that you buy everything you want and then sell what you don't like on eBay when you get home. Everything is still holding its value on eBay.

The smaller saber is like a Wakizashi, a shorter samurai sword. Lightsaber combat styles were actually based off Samurai style swordsmanship. If you're not familiar with those swords there are 3 sizes. The Tanto is the shortest of the 3, typically like a dagger. Next is the Wakizashi, a blade of about 29 inches long which is what Ahsoka's smaller saber would be. The full size blade is of course the Katana, typically 36-40 inches in length. As lightsabers are straight blades I guess you could say they are energy versions of a Ninjato, a straight bladed katana. So Ahsoka's fighting style is like a samurai utilizing both a Katana and a Wakizashi. By the way at the end you were wearing those sabers backwards. The smaller one goes on the left and the bigger one on the right. lol

Hey Carter!! lol... Those are two very good questions. Yes, my personal taste I like the more traditional look better than the samurai design. I also think the instant color change is extra fun. But it totally depends on your preference. Between the Graflex... and Ahsoka??... I have to go with the Graflex. But I am also a Star Wars purist and I have always loved the films the most. I hope our answers helped!

her normal size saber is for more for defending and her shoto saber is more for surprising the enemy. When she inverts her sabers she is more agressive but when they are not she is defensive

I love those Ahsoka Tano lightsabers I really do wish so much I had those lightsabers along with the other lightsabers.But the only problem is they are expensive.

Unfortunately you are right. All of the double sabers are the most expensive. However, if you look at it from the point of view that you are purchasing two sabers, the price for the extra saber is really quite smaller than buying two of the others. 🤷🏼‍♂️
