Regeneration is really good. Give it overwhelm from that one 6 mana Freljord card. Or go Targon with Soraka with the healing package, and even have Zenith Blade for 3 mana which gives 2 hp. There is also the support card which gives 2 hp

What I like about formidable is the amount of support (no pun intended) it gives to Soraka and all of the healing archetype, now you are much more rewarded for healing units and Star Spring does feel like a better win con now. The thing I disliked the most about Soraka/TK is the lack of interaction it has (other than TK's spell and Hush and sometimes the challenger unit) which made it kinda clunky to play sometimes, but Demacia offers great tools with strike spells and sharpsight, and maybe the new cards that'll be revealed with Galio. Not to mention Soraka solves an issue that formidable has which is losing "attack" when losing hp because she'll fully heal formidable units which is huge. Overall I'm very excited to see what the Galio package will include.

Yeah, demacia and targon have a lot of synergy with other. Demacia is more about striking with some buff on big units while targon is all about buffing units. For formidable archetype, healing is one of the most effective combo

Formidable keyword will be an indirect nerf to Pantheon and Arsenal, their power will be always more than their health, reducing their attacking capabilities. So it will be a really bad keyword to get it on them, it also messes with their keyword pool. I do not think riot will fix that the same they did with ephemeral keyword back in the day when viktor got released so we will be stuck with that.

Honestly that Formidable support with Vrynna, Scarmother is terrifying. On attack, that is 10 damage to face if not answered. Blocking her with a unit that has power or damaging her to lower the amount of damage taken, you give her +3|+0 or +4|+0 and though, which means she doesn't even need Formidable later. You have to answer with hard removal (note: since it's demacia freljord, it's nearly impossible to deal enough damage to one shot her) which forces it out of you. But again, it's probably less effective than formidable braum.

9 mana setup tho... Pretty much a finisher, so your opponent will anticipate it with a prepared hard removal. There's many better combos out there at 9 mana

Swim, the major weakness about this is that after striking or being damaged in any way the damage is reduced (at least that's how I think it's supposed to work like in hs) so if they get damaged their attack gets lowered, so you'd need to heal them or give them tough or as I believe they'll give more galio support cards that reduce damage by more than just 1.

Yeah. He did acknowledge this, but I don't think he talked about it enough. It's easy to disregard hp change in LoR, because often, it only matters for how many things can the unit survive. Here, it also affects how powerful the unit is, and that's a really big deal.

This is why I love "useless" cards. They have the potential to turn the meta when new cards or changes are released. Riot shouldn't dictate what should and shouldn't synergize which is why I dislike pre built decks like pykesai and monoshurima. Not that they shouldn't exist, they're simply the least interesting.

My theory: Galio will be a high cost that when leveled should win the game(maybe). What if the effect that Galio has is formidable not only hits with health but now also power. So once he levels he gains, say, 7 power 7 health. Now instead of just hitting for 6, he hits for a whopping 14 power that can be reduced to a minimum of 8 when he’s at one hp. Once again my theory but still can’t wait to see how wrong I am.

Basically Shen does the same, you pop the shield and then kill the thing Shen was protecting. Depends on the matchups, block and kill can require more resources than pop the shield

Who knows, maybe he'll go like Galio: 6 cost 0:7 Keyword: Tough and formidable Each time i get targeted by a spell, give me 0|2 this round (cuz in league if Galio is damaged by a spell he gains this little spell shield for about 3 seconds) Level up: I've taken 12+ damage from spells Tbh, I'm really looking forward how they integrate his play style in League here.

I haven't seen it being mentioned, but this is planned to be paired with Poppy and her followers, as they buff units that have less attack than them. And by "planned" I mean Riot always release champions in pairs to work together, so Poppy is "planned" to work with Galio

I don't think Gnar will be made to be paired up with Galio, Gnar will be more revolved around impact (see Stone Stackers as an example) and if you add in the fact he will be a dual region unit it means he'll be designed to help Tristana, since Tristana is a BC champion who doesn't have a pairing yet so it makes sense. Maybe Galio is supposed to be paired with the second Frejlord champ which we can assume it's either Ornn (because of the cinematic) or Volibear (Swim's cosplay and the cinematic as well).
