I actually really love the idea of just messing up opponents mulligans, but its never sth that was a big thing in the meta other than when Corina ctrl (Nx/Si/Elise) was first meta and noone knew the decks. Well, Im always hyped for dumb combo decks

My theory is that the change to attach will be that when the unit dies the attach card falls off and sits in play instead of going to hand. Like Yuumi does in LoL

Sounds like a buff to me. Drawing multiple of the same attach units is bad and redundant as you could see Swim suffering from. This change would eliminate that and give you a free summon (body) to delay longer so you can pull off a combo again, if not use that very summoned unit as an attach target instead of having to waste mana and pass more initiative summoning another unit to be the catalyst for the combo. In other words, you'd increase the mana efficiency and speed of the deck, and I'm not sure if that's a good idea. The weakness of attach is that of any combo deck: Being swarmed, requires setup, can be easily disrupted (when it is, it's pretty much game over, unlike burn), and it's slow. For most good decks, it's easy to disrupt the attach gameplan in some sufficient way. You don't even need to kill the unit, just delay it a turn before you close out the game or force it to block. Play attach decks and you'll realize it's not as godly as people think it is. You're pretty vulnerable the entire time and you're using your nexus health as a means to set up combos that could potentially get disrupted easily and set you back to step 1. If anything, it'd be better to nerf some of the attach cards or remove certain interactions. For example, idk if the Mask Mother interaction should remain because it's not the base unit that's giving itself elusive (Mask Mother's true target since it doesn't kill the attached unit), it's the attach unit giving it to it. It's likely an unintended inconsistency bc it's not the same with the Minimorph interaction, where it doesn't even interact with the attach unit, but it def does affect the catalyst because that's it's intended target. Mask Mother should be the same, only affect the catalyst and ignore the attach. Probably easier said than it is to code though. It's a matter of ironing out the new mechanic. Another change would prob be removing the modifiers the attach units currently retain... Like Field Promotion lol

Does atrocity still deal the damage and not kill the unit if it has spell shield? When I saw the owl cats it made me think of this, and I have no idea how it would shake out

Spell shield doesn't affect ally spells. Atrocity doesn't do damage if the unit didn't died or died before it's effect triggered.

Unfortunately I don't think there was any way to beat that Gnar opener with a bad hand + bad second manifest rng. =( Flower Child could've blocked 4 damage, but that would've meant no Elusive, so Swim has no way of winning. Naked Quill would've blocked 2 damage, but then Mega Gnar would've just killed the librarian instead of going for lethal and the game's over anyway. The other pure defence lines (like Atrocity-ing the Mega Gnar or chumping with naked attach units) would've left Swim with no way of winning.

I feel like all "attach" interactions should be kept, the recall, the permanent buffs, etc But just nerf Rainbowfish! Quick Quill, Yuumi and Papercraft Dragon are perfectly fine, *barely* playable without Fae aid or Gleaming Lantern... But Rainbowfish? Its broken in an unfun way... they should probably make it a 0/2 or something, increasing the mana cost probably won't do anything (since they get discounted anyway) Please Riot... don't nerf attach, just nerf Rainbowfish. Don't ruin such a fun mechanic :'(
