As always, great review, but two remarks: - It has an LCD screen and not an amoled one as you mention at 00:56. - This is the GARMIN VENU SQ Music edition with offline Spotify. The simple VENU SQ does not have Spotify.

After watching a bunch of reviews on different fitness tracker/smart watches, this video finally helped me seal the deal. Just ordered the Venu Sq music. I don't listen to music during walks/runs as I run on fairly busy roads and want to aware of my surrounding, but I do like to listen to podcasts on Spotify when I am out on my run, so this is perfect!

I just received this watch and the Instinct yesterday. I love how the Instinct just works but it is so darn big...compared to the Venu SQ. I really like the interface, the LCD screen is quite nice and the removal of buttons on the left side is great too. I tend to forget I am wearing the SQ. The smart notifications are more useable with the screen resolution also. I will update on bright sun viz tomorrow.

Seriously thinking the exact same thing. I'm wearing my wife's Fitbit Versa 2 right now and just keep looking at how clean it looks. By all means, the Garmin is probably a better value, but the Garmin logo looks so cheezy.

Can you put your own MP3's on this watch? Or do you have to use Spotify/Deezer with premium subscriptions to do that? Just got the Versa 3 and very disappointed that they've removed the ability to create your own playlists with your own MP3's and load them to the watch like you could on the Versa 2. So now, I'm looking for other options.

Yes, you can transfer your own audio files/playlist. But do note that you need a PC(Garmin Express) to do that, for now.

The vast amount Apple Watch people I know, use the features very little. They also don’t use much of fitness apps either. Seems like notifications, the odd fitness thing, calendar, maybe weather, then the rest of the advanced features are ‘Hey look what my watch can do’. But they don’t use, but feel superior that they could I guess. They are also always petrified about battery use. Some snowflakes like the payment options, but I have never had the urge. I ask them all the time how often they use them. It’s always the few main ones & then to impress people, then life gets back to normal.

Hi Mike. I just bought the SQ and agree largely with you assessment. My only question is with the vibration for notifications. It's extremely week to the point where it almost unnoticeable. And that's what the vibration set at is strong setting. Can you confirm if that was your experience as well or should I be contacting a warranty claim?

It would be good you not missed all the health related features of this watch. There are some topics make a big difference with all other watches on marked right now. I know not only me are specifically looking for the permanent spo2 record, so not only during the sleep and buy it cause of this by an example. Spotify or local music seems to be a big deal for you for sure ☺️

Man I rly wish this came out earlier in the year, accurate and simple. After a very disappointing experience with Fitbit versa 2 (especially at its price 😬, not worth its inaccuracy), I ended up with a great Garmin vivoactive 4, wanted more of a smart watch with reliable features and so I splurged and got Apple Watch s5. But if the SQ came out earlier, it would’ve been so perfect. The Garmin venu was far too big on me, and the 245 looked too sporty for my everyday wear :(

My husband just gave me this watch as a gift. I was kinda thrown off but he heard me complaining so much about my Active 2 and he swears by Garmin. Thoughts?!? I don't want to seem ungrateful but the active 2 is nice it just doesn't seem to hold up long.

This is more accurate and fitness-oriented. I personally love the Garmin devices for anything health related, but Samsung watches work better as an everyday peripheral to your phone. The good thing is the battery on this lasts substantially longer!
