I just got a new machine last week and its already given me a new oldest coin. Its really difficult to get old coins around where I live cause folks in the 70's pounded every accessible area, so I hunt local parks and playgrounds. I upgraded from my Bounty Hunter gold digger to the Minelab Gofind 20. Its still a pretty basic machine but without its iron discrimination feature i never would have found her. On top of a 30 inch steel storm drain pipe, put down in the 40s mind you, two inches down in the backfill over the pipe out pops a very green, very rough V nickel. She gave me a date too. 1891 Its not a silver but she is still precious to me. Congrats on all your awesome finds and I did discover that all holes do matter.

are the larger nel coils usable on the new atmax. hate the atpro connectors, but i was wondering if they were the same. it would suck to buy a new detector and new coils. just wondering...

The connectors suck but it has to be like to be waterproof. Yes all of the Pro, Gold, and Max coils are interchangeable. We tested a NEL Coil on the Max we use on the Pro. Worked just fine. Thanks Garrett! Sucks for 3rd party coil companies.

I'm thinking seriously of buying the AT Max but! I've seen a few videos where overhead power lines have interfered with the Z link and actually turned it off in one video. Can you comment on this at all?

I've had a similar experience with the universal MR-1 receiver with overhead power lines. I do believe they've addressed that with the early modes of that system. I've personally never had any problems with the MS-3 wireless headphones and I've been all around and under overhead power lines.

Hey Bobby, I just dug that same bell. Does yours have a W on one side and a B on the other? If so, I think it was made in my Home town of East Hampton, CT. Kurt a big congrats on your 1748 King George II . Good to see you back on the board. And was it me or did you seems really happy to be handling Bobby's Bell ? Mine was only about 5/8 complete. I got the side with the W. and about a 1/3 of the other side.

Hey, Kurt...loved the vid bro!....Your right at what you say at the end of the video..."PICK UP YOUR TRASH AND THROW IT AWAY!".....When I'm out and about digging, it sad to see sooooo many people throw trash down, (metallic wise) only to be digging it up later. I was metal detecting one day at a school park and a little kid came up toe and said..."hey mister, that guy over there has one of those thing you hunt with!" "Going over there after he had left, I had found that he didn't fill his holes back!"....I filled them back and soon after was approached by a "School Police Officer" guarding the property. He told me that I needed to leave, that I could be sited with a fine. I left quietly for fear of being fined and my detector confiscated. "PLEASE PEOPLE!....WHEN YOU DIG A HOLE...FILLLLL ITTTTTTT BACK!....Also, WHEN YOU FIND TRASH WHILE DIGGING, THROW IT AWAY LIKE A NORMAL RESPECTABLE HUMAN WOULD DO!"....Thanks!...your kindness is appreciated!.... Great finds. I own 2 AT Pro's. I love the machine. But none of the testers have really come out and said whether the AT Max is much better. What's the bottom line on performance? Is there really that much difference between the AT Pro's/Golds?

In this video I was using the stock coil. I have the 5x8 for high trash and iron sites. I also use the NEL Tornado Coil when I want extra depth and surface coverage. HH

Bobby's buttons !... found exact same gilded button bomb Mid-Coastl, ME. It was where a house was, then dragged 1/4 mile across rd in 1700's. Nothin' else was there, sadly enough. Please find history I could not. Chilly Nuggets.. ha !
