I’m so glad you said you could only bring 33 lbs. we’re flying on a smaller plane and I told my husband this and neither of us were sure that was correct. Is it required to have no wheels?

Hi Brittany! Thank you for your comment and question! When I traveled there in 2016, that was the requirement. However, while I was on Safari, there were many people who went over the weight limit, and paid a fee. Also, wheels are allowed. good tips. 'm getting ready for a 6nt/7day safari in northern tanzania. i fly into nairobi whereby i will buy local clothes for when i'm done with my safari i go to seychelles. i want nice clothes for evening dinners in seychelles. when i'm done with the clothes i will donate to local community.

How exciting! For a more detailed review, read this: livelightandtravel.com/packing-for-safari/ and scroll towards the bottom where the packing list was updated on January 5th. After Safari, I traveled to Madagascar, UAE, and the Maldives, so I donated what I no longer needed and gave myself the space to buy new clothes in the other locations. :)

i understand soft side but no wheels? why no wheels?

Hi! Before I left on Safari, it was recommended that the bags be soft-sided because when you're traveling on bush planes, they're easier to squish into the luggage compartment and also lighter for the weight limit. However, while I was on Safari, I donated my soft-sided bag and purchased one with wheels. And it was all good! :)
