Before the New Generation Watch Leadership symposium at Geneva Watch Days 2022, Wei caught up with Jean Arnault, Director of Marketing and Development at Louis Vuitton Watches, to talk about his deep passion for horology and high craftsmanship, and the brand's progression from a luxury fashion house to the heights of haute horlogerie.
Despite his famous last name, Jean's humility and sincerity are qualities that become immediately apparent when speaking with him, which do not belie the outsized vision he has to bring back a dormant brand poised for revival.

I love his vision ! As a Swiss from Geneva that got into the watch world not so long ago (shame me, I know), I really understand and feel what he means. He really seems passionate. Would love to have the opportunity to work with him one day if he continues on this path and that vision 😌

I love this interview! Also the relaunch of Daniel Roth is so cool. At times Daniel made as few as one or two watches per year, and that's the way he wanted to work: no marketing, no staff, no distribution, no hype except the understanding and appreciation of the few who knew what he was doing and wanted to support him by purchasing his hand made masterpieces.

Juda ham qiziqarli va foydali intervyu. Мне нравятся его мысли, то есть, в каком направлении они идут. He is a very intelligent man who will accomplish many great things.

I'd love to hear his thoughts on the future mechanical watches in the age of smart watches!

He said it perfectly: once you go down that rabbit hole of the mechanics you're hooked, but how do you promote a beautiful wind-up watch to a generation that has never been initially exposed to them?

They are too young to be there without any personal success experiences. Or any failures. Heirs aren’t the best to run companies. I have nothing against inheritance but this…

U sure about that? His brother alexandre led the acquisition of Tiffanny & Co and already turned the business around in a year. They know what they're doing

@@harison7778 haha really? Advisers and councils yes. They father yes. BTW, share holders and market will decide, no one else.

@NO TALK Guitar Amp Plug-ins Reviews tiff and co did 1b in profit this year. That's 2x more the previous record high. They already turned a 16b company into 30B. They know how to revamp the brand and accelerate sales by marketing. He's seen his family do it all their life. You have to give him credit for leading the acquisition and for assembling a new team of executives to help turn the business around.

Just remember at the end of the day, people with inheritance will get their inheritance and you’ll get the 19 likes on KZbin that would make you feel better about yourself.

From what I see, yes he is young and you could be right saying what you're saying, but I like his vision and fresh kind of seeing things if I can say that ? It's always nice to have a fresh, younger view on thing and giving his background and exposure to this world at a very young age it can really shape a person perspective and view on a subject so I think he might be "The guy" for the job. From what I'm seeing and hearing, I'd go with with his ideas (and add some of mine of course if possible hehe). Let's see what the future holds ! Looks bright tho ;)
