Michael, you didn't fail your battle tactic on turn 2. You complete this battle tactic if any models in a friendly SYLVANETH unit that was set up using the From the Woodland Depths battle trait this turn make a charge move this turn. You don't have to declare a model, and you managed a charge with Alarielle along with Strike + Fade - that counts Because both Strike and Fade and Walk the Hidden Paths are parts of "From the Woodland Depths" battle trait. Check the FAQ - it's clarified there.

Dudes, your batreps are quickly becoming the best on KZbin. The info, depth and intensity of the games is excellent. Something that would be awesome, as a viewer, would be to have a more accurate macro of the battlefield. Some type of top down aid that helps us keep track of the importance of positioning throughout the game.

We are trying to add that element eventually, involves a ceiling mounted camera and stream deck, plus would add additional edit time as would be seperate video file to implement. The top down agreeably is a great way to add depth and visual aesthetic to the channel. Very good game. I feel like Durthu missing the charge was a godsend for the stormcast. Those primal dice didn't seem to be doing too much for you guys, i was expecting you to start throwing them on the pile just for the fun of it. And 1 final note, Alarielle is not a warmaster. Lady of vines and Drycha are but for some reason the goddess of life isnt the general of her own forces.

I played 10 games before I understood the rules, and took quite the beating during that time, the game is extremely fun once you get tactics, overlapping buffs and a good understanding of all of the army subfactions and abilities. Did I miss something? How could Durthu do the turn 1 strike and fade? There was no tree or overgrown terrain within 9", because you can only place it outside the opponent's territory before the game

Stormcast eternals still have several good builds that arent all dragons. They can still build a very mobile force that can put out a blistering amount of firepower

Dragged into the Tempest ability has very poor wording. It states that you pick a model within an inch after all attacks are resolved. Michael is a strong player and knows to get models outside of an inch if at all possible, so I just never had the opportunity LOL. I did forget to lay low the tyrants turn 3 though, would have been nice to lift one of those pesky tree revenants! Thanks for taking the time to comment, tons of Stormcast stuff on the way!

I undercoated the beetle with different color dry brushing and then air brushed different color turbo dork color shift on top. I was really nervous to use turbo dork on the beetle but i was really pleased with the result

Great game, love the battle reports. One thing to note: Tree revs has 2 wounds, so this would have pinned the dragons (did 5 damage vs them and 7 wounds remaining). this would prob have given the game to sylvaneth. Such a close and cool game.

The dragons attacks were 2 damage each :) they had lances, so got +1 to rend and damage on the charge :)

Im new to aos so forgive me if its a dymb question but i thought you need three battleline units unless im missing something hammers of sigmar dont make SDG battleline so what were the other three units?

The SDG are battleline if your general is a knight draconis :)

Durthu starting charges are a nightmare but I find him going first to be better. If they make you go first turn 1 not only is your deployment is messed from trying to control him with screens but your turn 1 is also crippled by your inability to properly move without giving him a valuable target.

Could have screened the dryads with Alarielle on turn 4. Even if she had died she was coming back anyways automatically on turn 5 landing on a point. Good game and lots of fun to play. And great work by Dave with those hot rolls

How did you teleport onto the objective with Knight Zephros when says has be 1" from objectives? Did I miss something?

The objective is a point on the battlefield, the Zephyros teleported within 6" of the objective. The markers are just showing eligible range to score objectives

Just as a reminder, Hammers of Sigmar get a ward if they're wholly within 12" of an objective, not 6". The Knight-Draconis could have had a chance to live, but he would almost certainly have been put to sleep by the claws shortly afterwards.

Why did the Sylvaneth fail the Spirit Paths battle tactic? It doesn't say teleport and charge... you complete it by either 1.charging and using strike and fade OR 2.teleporting and charging

michael was under the impression you had to charge using strike and fade that is how it is worded in the book. it was after this game that the community pointed out the designer notes in the app that clarifies you can simply charge then teleport away.

You can counter than auto unbind with your primal dice. Turn 4 you had 2 and did not use them.

Good point! We are adding a primal dice overlay so it is easier to see what we have, and will make us more aware of them as we play. This was game 2 with the new GHB and still have a ton to learn. Thanks a lot for taking the time to comment :)

Voting for sylvaneth. Just finished painting my warsong today and gonna Play a Match with a similar list than Michaels tomorrow. Just instead of Battlemage and 10 dryads i have kurnoths.. this Battle Report gonna be a good preparation for my 1st sylvaneth Match 🙂

Michael is a strong Sylvaneth player, the new sauce is definitely 6 Kurnoth with Swords. IMO I think the spiteswarm and battle mage combo will be very risky with primal dice in the mix, so expecting to see competitive lists switch to Heartwood with plus to move trait. Interesting time to play AOS, feels like an earthquake has hit the meta and that makes us excited to try new things ;)

He got away with not taking damage for the first 2 battle rounds, then we started rolling for him lol. It took us a second to realize that he doesnt benefit from Sylvaneth keyword, which makes it risky to hid him in the trees LOL.

Michael went 3-2 with Seraphon Starborne, David went 3-2 with Stormcast Dragons, Jarod Brown 3-2 with Lumineth Realm Lords, Dan went 4-1 with his Slaanesh, Jeremy went 4-1 with his OBR, Ted Seabolt went 3-2 with Gloomspite Gitz, and Oliver went 3-2 with Slaves to Darkness. Positive win rate for the whole team, was a very challenging GT due to new GHB and points changes just days beforehand. We are off to Boise Cup next weekend and hope to keep the positive win rate going :)

Stormcast Eternals versus the Sylvaneth. Both of these are intended to be tournament-competitive lists, eh? So who do I cheer for? I'm gonna' go with Sylvaneth because Alarielle. I love SCE; I'm very glad they got a much-needed points drop on a bunch of units. But Alarielle looks awesome as a muscular God who is willing to give war a chance. Plus, she rides a rhinoceros beetle, one of my favourite insects IRL. "Everyone can make a seven inch charge, Durthu!" That's gonna' be how I complain about failing easy charges from now on. :D Competitive is competitive. Really came down to the wire, but was the Holy Command issued? Did I miss it? Clearly, it was not necessary, but well-played to everyone on this one. See you at the next battlefield.

thank you for the well thought out comment! Alarielle was originally my model and I had the greatest time smashing around the battlefield when she was grey in second addition. Michael put a ton of time into painting this army and bringing it to life, and he always brings his A game when he plays them. I had a mixture of good luck and proper board positioning to take this one down. I have won against this list 3 time out of around the 12 times I've played against it. Michael even beat me at the final table to a tournament by one point with a very similar list. If you have been watching for awhile, you probably already know that I favor aggressive playstyle that requires some luck, but big rewards, where Michael plays more of a castle/scalpel playstyle where he focuses on trades and consistent scoring. The dragons went 3-2 at Tacoma open with losses vs Seraphon Starborne and Beasts of Chaos, but were able to prevail vs another Sylvaneth army, Ironjaws and Daughters of Khaine

It is just so good! I also really like run and charge once per battle with luck stone on a different unit and Celestant Prime, that way you can drop 3 hammers at once and just have so much fun. It is just very hard to pass up a free unit.

I've been enjoying your content and I'd like to give you some feedback. Almost every section is started off by "we're going to do X, but before we do, let's Y." It's a nitpick, but really odd how much it happens. Maybe have a whiteboard in eyeshot with bullets on it so you know that when you finish one section of your video, or turn, what the next part is supposed to be. Otherwise, it's just a lot of waste. Again, I know it's a nitpick. Again, I'm sure I'll get dogpiled in the comments. I'm just giving some constructive feedback if you want to elevate the professionalism a bit more -- since to me it's clear you're aiming for a professional finished product.

I totally agree with this statement. Something that I do all the time is start casting before heroic actions and Michael is constantly having to remind me. Retro will occur from time to time (just as in a regular game) but we will work to get our sequencing improved. One thing to note, when we started filming content, we noticed there are a lot more mistakes than you think vs playing a game that you cant literally replay and watch again. Playing the game at a moderately high level, managing all of the equipment and getting everything in order takes ALOT of practice. Our goal is to always be improving in some aspect of the game and how we present it to you, and we really appreciate the positive feedback.
