One thing that I don’t expect now is the show having any connection to the graphic novels, especially Godzilla Awakening. I think that prequel comic to Godzilla 2014 is going to get some what retconned by this show. In the comic, it showed Godzilla getting nuked by the hydrogen bomb while fighting the Shinomura. In this show, it looks like that climax is going to change to be more like the 2014 movie and have him baited to the atoll alone.

(8:19) I think what I want out of this show (more than anything) is an entertaining show while at the same time having a good story and characters. I really do hope they tie in the previous movies well in this show while also not trying to retcon anything else (maybe also try to fit in some of the lore from the comic books as well). I do also miss the tone form 2014 and so far from the trailers it looks like their bring it back (which im hoping they will continue with that tone in future projects, despite how wild they've become lol). 📖🦖📺 (4:07) I agree, I don't think we will see Kong that much in this show (if at all to be honestly). If he was then im sure they would have shown him in the trailer. 🏝🦍❔

I’m excited for this. And I agree that it definitely feels refreshing that we’re gonna get a more grounded tone where as the last two Monsterverse films, GVK in particular, felt a little too goofy and targeted for children. To clarify though it was due to the human side of the story not the monsters. Also I love that we’re getting two of Godzilla’s designs for this series.
