Honestly, you're an idiot of you thought Godzilla 1998 and Godzilla 2000 were related in anyway. If the Godzilla from 2000 was in the 1998 movie, the 1998 would've been a lot better

Now all we need is both *"GODZILLA:* *King of the Monsters in 3-D",* the 1983 3-D film from director Steve Miner with the proposed cast of Powers Boothe & Demi Moore as the two main leads and a cameo with Raymond Burr. And Toho producer Tomoyuki Tanaka's original story between 1980 & 1983 called *"Resurrection of GODZILLA",* which eventually became *"GOJIRA"* (1984) or *"GODZILLA 1985",* where Godzilla was to fight a shapeshifting kaiju called Bakan (who switches between an ape, a dragon and a fish, before its final totem-like combined form), and after he destroys Bakan, he is defeated by a scientist detonating a nuclear fisson device: the Reiconium, only for his body to wash ashore on the west coast of America and getting revived by a nearby nuclear power plant at the end.

Yeah, this would have crashed and burned. The first Godzilla film is very dark. The films of the 60s and 70s are not remembered fondly and are considered a low point. Godzilla didn't come back to popularity until we got more serious films in the '90s. The Tri-Star film was a joke and 2000 was kinda boring. Fans weren't happy until GMK in 2001 and made Godzilla a horror villain again.

Couple of clarifications to make. Apparently the comedic actor Steve Martin was supposed to play “Raymond Burr” in this movie as the “Godzilla Expert”. Also Sid Ganis is the one that actually tried to get the new head of production to read the script but he didn’t budge. This sounds like it could’ve been a seriously insane movie lol

As many other monsterflicks I ve seen it on german tv cause Im german. Later of course I watched it in english and I loved it. As I later saw Gorgy for the first time I immediateley recognized the similarities. In Fact would say its a remake of Gorgo just as the 1998 Godzilla is actualy a remake of "The beast of 20000 fathoms" rather than a Godzilla movie.
@Saysquatsch4 күн бұрын
I saw this movie once in german tv (Im german) and liked it since then. In terms of plot and story I think its even better than JP: The lost world because it tells a much smaler and more groundet story about working out traumatic issues, facing your fears and overcome them. Also family plays a big role in the story and it doesnt feel as forced like in JP: the lost world.

Personally, we already got a remake. They should probably focus more on the forgotten characters and thier story archs. RE has enough forgotten characters to write thier own story.

Not to mention the all-star cast, many of whom were in 40s or 50s horror films. Dick Miller, Dennis Dugan, Slim Pickens, Robert Picardo, John Carradine, Kevin McCarthy, Chris Stone, Dee Wallace, and so many more, plus the in-jokes about wolves and werewolves in general combine to make this film as much a black comedy as a frightening horror film.
@saveriovinci12126 күн бұрын
(3:33) Thats an interesting point he brings up and is probably one of the reasons why so many people didn't take a lot of the older Godzilla movies seriously as most of us die hard fans did. That some of the human characters act serious while the monster action is silly and over the top in comparison. 📝👥🤔🦖🥊 (7:54) I actually prefer "Loony Tunes: Back in Action" over "Space Jam". I think Space Jam is pretty overrated if you ask me. 💎🐒✅🐰🚫🏀👽
