My local fragrance store here in the UK has a notice on their website saying that Essence is in fact just a rebrand of Gucci Guilty Black BUT some people (reddit) are saying it could still be a slight reformulation because whilst it does smell identical they seem to be reporting slightly better performance! ...Personally I think the rebrand is a good idea because to me "Black" was never a Black fragrance, nowhere near as heavy as they typically are from every other brands, you shouldn't be able to wear any black fragrance in the high summer heat like you can with this one, it's definitely more of a Green leaning Blue fragrance, so they got the bottle correct and now the name to match!

Correct, definitely more of a Blueish Green fragrance! i'm not sure i'd purposefully wear it in the blazing sun or anything though but i'd imagine it wouldn't cause too much trouble.

I bought this a few months ago and did a review on it. I'm a small time guy that mainly reviews sneakers. This is a rebrand of Gucci Guilty Black from what I read online from Gucci. When I first bought it, I had no idea. I thought it was new as well. Great video as usual. Always enjoy your content.

Nah f this. They need to bring back black. Black is so fresh and more orange than essence. I would wear it essence like dollar tree perfume than black
