Hi Gemma! I blindly bought this foundation online in shade 0N, which should be the lightest shade available, and it turned to be SO orange that I cannot manage to wear it. And as it dries down, it gets even darker and more orange! The texture is SO perfect, it looks flawless on skin! It does not set in pores or lines, very skin like and natural but with perfect coverage for my needs. That would be my holy grail foundation IF the shade worked for me. It is so, so dark and so orange 😞I tried lilac color corrector but I had to add so much of it that it affected the texture of the foundation.

I have never found my perfect foundation. Many will just lie on my skin and not "soak" in. Perhaps it is my skin care that prevents that but I have tried many combinations and not been truly satisfied. I think I am going to try this one even though I have invested a fortune in foundations.

Have you tried Estée Lauder Double wear? I’ve tried tons as well and that one is so great for my skin (combination skin more dry leaning lately). That one really “sinks into” my skin!

@@chrissymoss514 actually, I only discovered samples when I realized I wasn't taking advantage of what Sephora was offering as samples so I have tried a couple. I will continue to do that, especially as you pointed it out. I need to try foundations with different combos of skin care, SPFs, etc. and I hope I can get enough to do that. Thank you for that suggestion.
@chrissymoss514 Жыл бұрын
@legalpuppy8602 Do each cheek with a different primer/SPF etc, that way the samples will stretch a little further and will allow you to learn more about the foundation. I've done this a few times - I've had to - and it's really useful. Good luck 👍💚

I absolutely agree with you. I first tried this one when my skin was littered with dry patches - needless to say, I look even more horrendous than my usual self!!! Well, because we can't return opened products, I tried it again after my skin had cleared up. It looked lovely (I didn't change my skincare). I'm wondering if it might behave better if I mixed with some moisturiser on my "dried as a prune" days 🤔 I hope your Mum likes it, I can't wait to hear her thoughts 🥰🥰 Lots and lots of love 💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜

I Gemma, so happy to see a foundation review again and I love your eye look 😁 I invested in the Lisa Eldridge seamless skin foundation lately and I love it so much. This also is self setting and goes nowhere. I don't need a foundation right now, lucky me, but I want to have it on my skin 🙈 it's the only one I know, that holds under my sunglasses. No marks at all. And I mix it with my spf as well or other foundations to get it a bit darker at the moment and it always dominates with it advantages. I love this one so so much.

I'm getting annoyed with the orange of Guerlain and the salesgirl who suggested the colour for me, she never chooses the right colour for me. I finally bit the bullet and got this foundation, I am late 70s my skin is not too dry but I do have lines … only normal😂😂 I love it it looks so nice on my skin, smooth and not exaggerating lines and sagging skin. I chose my colour myself online by what other foundations I use, eg I am 1,5N in Dior forever glow, I am also 1.5N in this it does slightly oxidize but much as the Dior does so it worked, I would like to use a tiny bit of pigment to darken it a little for evening but will have to experiment with that. Where I am we do not have easy access to samples and sometimes I find sales associates don’t pick the best undertones as the light in the store can distort it. (Charlotte Tilbury in Arnotts Dublin are an exception they are wonderful) I love high end makeup and will save for particular products. I love your videos they are so helpful and informative. Thanks a million. Xx

It applied very easily & it covered even the darkest of my age spots. That’s where the good ended, it looked SO dry & it showed me pores that I never knew I had. Hope that helps somebody. 3:19 It's a *myth* that alcohol in skincare and cosmetics are drying for skin. They are not. Learn more via these two youtube videos, alcohol actually helps ingredients work *for* your skin, there are all types of alcohols including some that are humectants, meaning they actually *moisturize the skin* . Board certified dermatologist Dr Dray talks about it in her video titled "Alcohols in skin care products: denatured & fatty alcohols" Dr Dray posted Oct 18, 2019
@PamperedWolf Жыл бұрын
I think you’re misunderstanding what I’m saying in this video. Some alcohols in high quantities can be drying for certain skin types because due to the fact that they evaporate quickly, they have a tendency to pull moisture from the skin leaving it dehydrated and feeling dry and tight. This is why I like to make sure I mention it in my videos, so if you are sensitive to the astringent alcohols, you can avoid the product. I don’t class moisturising alcohols as alcohols at all and wouldn’t mention them in my videos in this way. Alcohols in foundation allow a quick dry down and helps the foundation last all day as well as help to provide a non greasy transfer resistant finish. If you watch the video that you recommended, you’ll see that Dr Dray actually agrees with me. I watched the video back in 2019 and it’s packed full of good info. Have a great day x
@violetviolet888 Жыл бұрын
@@PamperedWolf Just want to make sure people are aware that the word itself is nothing to be afraid of as there *many* forms of alcohol in beauty products. Examples you’ll see on ingredient labels include cetyl, stearyl, and cetearyl alcohol. All of these are good ingredients for dry skin, and in small amounts are fine for any skin type as they give a pleasing texture and help keep ingredients stay stable in products. It’s important to discern these from any that certain people may be sensitive to. When taken out of context, alcohol sounds like your skin’s worst nightmare, not all forms of alcohol are destructive.
@PamperedWolf Жыл бұрын
@@violetviolet888 I totally understand what you mean and you’re right that I do assume that my viewers have knowledge in this area or at least understand that I’m only addressing the astringent forms of alcohol, not the good alcohols etc. I’ll be more specific next time. Thank you for pointing this out. X
