Hi little guy :D Obligatory dev comment: I do agree that the item finding aspect of the Little Guy is a little underwhelming, especially for an A tier. The chance of finding an item is 4.75% on room clear and it's also weighted to have a higher chance of giving lower quality items. It does have a mechanic where failing the chance will increase it until it successfully finds an item though. The heavy weight synergy increases Little Guy's chance of finding an item from 4.75% to 7% and also boosts the boxing glove's damage by 50%. The other two synergies you got with the root (Elephant in the Room and Tea for Two) are just basegame synergies with companions that have had the root added to them. Tea for Two is my favorite synergy with the root. Since the Little Gal tries to stay near enemies and block their bullets, the synergy turns her into a fairly effective attacker. Having the Little Guy adds him to the bosscard, same for the Little Gal. Unfortunately like all bosscards it goes unseen most of the time since everyone skips the boss intros (including me lol). Maybe I should buff Little Guy to have a higher base chance of finding items, or at least increase how much failing it increases the future item find chances. Then again, I feel like the cute companions are most of the mod's appeal. Lol. Also seeing someone experience the countdown was very entertaining. It was my idea to add it as Little Gal's introduction.
