Over the top smart respectful kid. Too mature for you Jim; you're what we call in the biz "good Television" - which isn't always a compliment. You might owe that young man an apology; AND the two of you would be a force of nature together if you can figure out how to leverage a top talent - in a too-small entry position. Switching topics, what is the landing speed of that experimental light-sport? These pocket rockets are dangerous in ways you might not think about at first. Because the wing loading (weight per square foot) is like 10 lbs/ft., every wisp of wind is going to feel like a rollercoaster - which gives higher speed landings that much more chance to run into trouble. If it feels like a casket as well, and someone is a little claustrophobic, or even if a passenger is nervous about having others drive them in a car, it's going to overwhelm a passenger and be the worst ride of their life (literally fearing for their life). My grey hairs have taught me a lot of surprising lessons about how others experience things - if it's a help here as well. I know you would never endanger someone - so it's worth chatting about - sooner than later I think. Last thought, if you are finding that your old barn finds are moldy? Not sure if this is a problem. If it is, you can heat the whole plane to 150 f for a few hours, and that will kill any live mold spores. The dead spores will need cleaned out also, but are less harmful. In the Florida heat, I should think you can get planes up to 150 and keep them there on a sunny day with maybe a space heater. I can't recall the temp at which mouse droppings are sanitized.

You have to spell out what the benefit and learning is, or they are right not to invest their time with you. I was surprised by this a time or two; employees want to understand what is their progression - once they master A, then they will move to B, C and so on. If the path matches their goals (airtime, mechanics, etc.), they can feel comfortable investing their time. We only get one life - and it's important to demand the most from it. Again, if it helps - not preaching here.

Love your snipe hunting story. Very well known in my area to use a flashlight to shine in the bag!

Oddly enough, snipe are a real thing. "A snipe is any of about 26 wading bird species in three genera in the family Scolopacidae."
@oncypresspond69462 жыл бұрын
When I was in high school we would hunt snipe in season of course. Not sure who started the fake snipe hunting joke but I always wonder if the jokesters realize they really exist and are fun to hunt.

If I had enough money and space for this project, I’d love to take care of the Aztec to prevent it from ending on the parts pile, as this seems to be an awesome bird, too. And if I were only somewhere near Florida - and had the necessary qualifications - I’d even think of it being fun to join this cool team. But reality has me sitting in Germany with no space and no money (spent it all on cars for way too many years 🙈).
