I have low porosity hair which means it’s difficult for my hair to retain or absorb moisture. To fight dry and brittle hair I bought the Kingsteam 2 in 1 hair and facial steamer on Amazon Prime. Now I can treat my hair from the comfort of my home. Also, I used aloe vera as a hair mask for my treatment. Let me know in the comments if you learned anything new or have any questions down below

Black Friday is coming up. Alikay's honey deep conditioner has honey which is also a humectant. Aloe is temporary unless you leave it in and use an anti-humectant on top of it. Like using uncle funky's daughter gel. Some people like that.

I never heard of their products before but I may try it. I read about honey being really good for natural hair.

@@queenyobee some people choose to put a a drop of honey in their conditioner. I don't know about the last effects of humectants in conditioning though but I enjoy that product.

I have the same hair steamer from Amazon, but in brown. Chile, I forgot how to connect the lid. I searched on KZbin and your channel came up! I am 4c too... the same struggles. I used this steamer once or twice the 2+years I've had it. How do I connect this thing?! LOL (Subbed :-)). I have started doing my own protective styles, hair is almost bra strap.

Hello Queen, it's super easy trust me. I start by adding water then attach the neck piece. Make sure the rubber tube is facing up. That's how the steam travels up. Then attach the hood to the neck by sliding the black pieces together. Also remember to open the holes at the top of the hood so you don't dry your hair out from the heat. I hope this helps and if it doesn't watch me do it in the video at 6:14. Your hair is going to love the steam treatments and it reach your bra strap soon. Oh and thank you so much for showing my channel love by joining the kingdom! I hope we can learn from each other on our natural hair journey.

I may get one on offer up. People typically have steamers on there a lot. For cheap lol. And they do negotiate. It isn't like the warranties give a lot of time so why not right.

I have one too but I can’t find a way to clean/wipe the inside of the tank. Do you know how?
@queenyobee
@queenyobee Жыл бұрын
I use distilled water so I don't have any build-up in my tank. If I had that issue I would try using vinegar to clean the tank. I hope that helps

I want a steamer that does cool steam. I have no idea why they make them that hot. Some people have damaged their hair using all kinds of steamers but they may have been high porosity before going under or using them too often.
@queenyobee

I haven't seen a cool steamer but when I use my steamer I use it max. twice a month. Also, I open the three holes at the top because if I don't my hair will dry out.

Hey Queen! Great video! Very THOROUGH review. Now that you've been using this steamer for a few months, has it given you any problems other than the ones you've already listed? I keep reading that the issue with a lot of steamers (professional versions or otherwise), is that they stop working after a while. I Would really love your feedback. Thank you Xo

Hello Joana! Great question, I think the problem is probably coming from using the wrong water. You have to use distilled water. I was lazy one day and used purified water and now I have this white build up in my stream. Over time that build can cake up inside the steamer and it will stop working properly. I hope this helps.
@hushpuppytt1
@hushpuppytt1 3 жыл бұрын
@@queenyobee The directions state to fix the build up, (limescale) which happens at times, fill up the tank with 400ml of water and one spoon of vinegar. Turn in the unit by pressing steam button to let the water boil, turn off, let cool. After approximately 12 hours, discard the vinegar water and rinse with clean water. Hope this helps.

Hi Queen, the idea is not to have your head toally under the hood. My hairdresser told me as it steams the water runs down. It's a different method of steaming.

Could you add essential oils your water? Was thinking of doing a peppermint oil steam treatment.
@queenyobee
@queenyobee 3 жыл бұрын
My only concern with trying to add a oil like that is the steam getting in your eyes and the peppermint oil irritating them. You could try it but if I was you I wouldn't put that much in the water.

I heard somewhere that if you use it everyday then your hair will be too moisturized. I’m sure it also depends on for how long you are steaming your hair each session and many other factors.
