I ran my own business for 5 years and went through a two year divorce, yeah two years. Just now getting back in the hair industry in my own suite. This video was soooooo helpful, recently found out hastags are everything. Thank you for posting!!! Blessings.

Thank you so much for this video and tips!! Right after cosmo school I jumped into the salon but I wish I would have waited a little while and earned more knowledge plus took more classes..That experience wasnt the best and the enviroment was horrible with rude older stylist that I left the salon..Im ready to get back to it now with a better focus and a even more level head. Thanks again for this video!!

I really needed to here this your are very genuine and you don't find that many stylist out here in our industry that will give you this type of info to help grow your self. So thanks so much. What's a nice way to ask your friends to pay? I have friends that ask me to do their hair but no one pays. Today another one said hey what are you doing tonight. Can you do my hair? I never know how to respond without being offensive? It sucks because they are willing to pay other stylists but not me because they know me. My family too!

And their thing is I'll help you like if it's braids they'll help braid etc

BossLdie84 i hope you got the answer you needed being that it's a whole year later but if not " you can be tactful but firm in what you are doing. i love you girl but this is my business now i do charge for services. i won't break your pockets but this is how i make my living! .......and if they don't respect that check whether they are your friends or not. for my best friend she'll never pay but my friends oh they pay. and I'm the nicest and used to be terrible with communication but now i see it effects my pockets not being assertive hope this helps!
@gograybechic4 жыл бұрын
You gotta make those friends respect you NOW! The more you continue to let them get their hair done for free the less they respect your business. Treat your craft as a real business and not a hobby. You became licensed to make money NOT to do FREE hair! Let them know girl!

i hear this a lot!! I believe the key is to get louddddd about what you are good at and then when people come to you over deliver and give them an experience and its so simple but dont forget to be on top of people about booking again and again!! you have to literally feel like a stalker!!! lol get uncomfortable and get creative. host events and network with businesses that compliment your business so that you guys can cross promote!! you have to think like a ceo and step from behind the chair! check out my videos on the ceo stylist they are packed with information

You are truly an inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing this information along with your marketing boot camp video and the styles that you do. You should look into doing a video series that we as stylists can purchase and then you can also market it to the beauty schools worldwide because they definitely dont teach this in the schools. Thank you! :)

Do you have any advice on how to take your clientele (request clients) with you from a corporate salon? I created some business cards with my contact info on them just so that when I leave they can call me or find me on social media and I’ve been slipping them to clients when no one is looking but it seems like the other stylist are watching me now and the managers have even changed their workstations to be closer to me now! I think I was able to sneak about 100 cards to my clients so far but I know that’s not enough for me to be able to thrive.
