Back when they were producing Halloween 4, Carpenter was going to direct, but left the project when they rejected the script he wanted to use. The story would have said that Michael did in fact die in the explosion, and Halloween was banned in Haddonfield. I couldn't find much else regarding the direction the story would have taken, except that the intention was to show that repressing an idea only makes it stronger and that by trying to erase the memory of Michael, they only cause more damage. Akkad rejected the script because he knew fans wanted Michael in the flesh and blood. Since that was the last time Carpenter was involved, I wonder if that will inform the direction they take.

Only Donald Pleasence could make a GREAT Dr. Loomis, but here are a few actors I think would make a good Dr Loomis: 1. Sean Bean: He's only a year younger than Donald Pleasence was in the original Halloween and the Bean always brings his A game. Who better to face Michael, than the actor who has died more than Michael Myers, himself? 2. Robert Carlyle: Another great actor, again, around the same age as Pleasence was. I think he could stay faithful to the Dr. Loomis role, while at the same time, make it his own. 3. Charles Dance: An actor of his caliber would elevate the Halloween franchise to a whole other level. 4. Ben Kingsley: He's been in some terrible movies in the past couple decades, so he would be easy to secure for the role. But he is a really good actor and with the right director and script, Ben Kingsley could be the Dr. Loomis we need. 5. Patrick Stewart: Tell me Patrick Stewart would not make a good Dr. Loomis. Go on, tell me! Sorry for yelling, but he would. He's 76, but he could go toe to toe with Michael Myers. The man has defeated the Borg and Magneto. Michael Myers would be a walk in the park. 6. Judy Dench: I know what you're thinking...Goddamn you, Michael! Also...but she's a female! Well, she's also a very talented actress and very capable of taking the character of Dr. Loomis in a different direction. Dr. Samantha Loomis, having lost her own son, takes on a young Michael Myers. At first, she forms a motherly bond and grows fond of Michael and he begins to bond with her as well, since his own parents abandoned him. She soon realizes that Michael is growing too attached to her and that she is crossing the boundaries of doctor and patient. She attempts to make their relationship more professional, but Michael sees this as rejection and becomes more and more withdrawn. Over the years, she sees his humanity slowly die away, until she realizes what is living behind that boy's eyes is purely and simply... evil. It would create a whole other dynamic, in which she would feel that she is to blame for using Michael to fill the void left by the death of her son and that it may be her fault that he became withdrawn and felt he had to kill again. I'd love to make KZbin videos like you guys and voice my thoughts, but I lack both a camera and bravery. So, I have to do so vicariously through you two. So, in conclusion, GODDAMN YOU, MICHAEL!

Here's a very important question to raise: will Michael be able to "see"? Both his eyes were shot at the end of Halloween 2 so I'm guessing it'll be the "evil" making him able to see even if he's technically blind in reality

Breen Machine Never thought of that but good point! I've recently theorized that Michael and the evil that controls him coexist in Michael's body. So Michael can see, hear, smell and touch....but he can't control himself because the evil overpowers him....But there are moments where Michael surfaces. So when the evil is killing someone, Michael is still seeing it through his own eyes. And that's why he always tilts his head after he kills someone. That's the little boy inside of him coming out. But anyways, your notion reminded me of my theory and that's how I see that happening. Michael would be blind but the evil can still see through his eyes.

WeWatchedAMovie when Danny said he was keeping it grounded he meant he was sticking with the way Carpenter filmed the original. the whole less is more tension building style of filming. that's why Carpenter is involved producing. so they have him as a resource. McBride has been adamant about getting back to the basics that made the original scary as tiiits.

The biggest decision here is who can they get to play Dr. Loomis. Donald Pleasants left us with such an iconic vision of who this person was that I have wrecked my mind over many drunken nights about who could fill those shoes. Can't think of anyone already known or established so I would honestly do a open casting call world fucking wide until the perfect person walked through the door. Seriously the biggest mistake besides killing Michael would be to fuck up the casting for Dr. Samuel Loomis.

I love this video lmao. I laughed throughout and I agree with Jay. He better be a supernatural unkillable machine. Buuuuuuuuuuuut if he were to die at the end of the movie, it wouldn't be horrible either. He could always be resurrected if they wanted to make a new one. Like, resurrected literally with a ritual or something so he would come back immortal and pure evil if necessary. That way, he'd be pretty grounded but then come back in the next movie as an unstoppable force. Just end it with his body coming up missing and we decide what happens. I just want that element of not knowing and supernatural presence present in the film, somewhere.

Two valid points... but it's a toss up. This movie could go either way and we would have to just deal. Think about it... Tom Savini created Jason and came back to "destroy" him for The Final Chapter. The studio told them to hack Jason in the side of the head instead of down the middle, then the writer said he knew they were making another. Carpenter just may very well vouch for Michael to get killed, or back outta the project. But someone at Blumhouse will work around that shit. It's all a wondeful fucking mess, but I'm hyped for it. This new version from the eighties is actually between part 2 and Season of the Witch. Because, we all don't know what happend to Michael Myers prior to Season of the Witch. If you noticed in part 3 Season of the Witch, everyone is a clone mechnical puppet of their human self. Also, the men in suits they all have the same " Thorn " runic tattoo on their right wrist. Which, is indentical to Michael Myers. So, my opinion the men in suits in halloween 3 season of the witch, is a clone of Michael Myers. This new director Dan Mcbride will show us if they do kill Michael and will there be clones of him to carry on series which went to H20 etc..... Think about in between the story line, because there's a bunch we don't know about Michael Myers after part 2 and before part 4 the return of michael myers.

Dale Weber Interesting that you mentioned the cloning thing because I was working on a script that made the notion that every Michael Myers after part 2 wasn't really Michael Myers. It was the same evil but in a new vessel. Which explains the change in Michael's build throughout the series. And I always wanted to believe that HIII and the Myers story are connected somehow, but I could never come up with anything solid enough.

In part 4 at the beginning I was really curious when EMT's prep Michael for transport, who was the other guy in the bed. There's one other that may help, in the Origins-or curse of Michael Myer's. There's a few scenes, one is Loomis finds out about Winn & the orphanage home, the lab at Smith's Grove it's the lab where Paul Rudd gives Mike his baby the lab it self is where they did cloning, due to unborn fetus's. Michael Myer's character is interesting he could live on like DC hero Batman-Bruce Wayne. Reason for this is last episode in Batman Beyond young Terry McGinnis discover's he's not only son of Bruce Wayne but a clone of Bruce Wayne who he had go through same experience as Bruce.

Michael Myers is not Jason Voorhees, John Carpenter could absolutely kill off Micheal in a way that no living human (possessed by evil or not) could survive! A stupid example would be if he was melted or if we saw him literally burnt to a crisp to the point where it would be impossible to move let alone continue killing! You could say they tried this in H20 when "Micheal" was decapitated and obviously the company got around this by altering the previous films story, having Myers put his mask on someone else in the flashback scene at the beginning of Resurrection allowing the character to continue. But let's say there was nobody around to do the switch and Micheal was successfully put in a meat grinder and pulped on screen, he would effectively be destroyed in this particular timeline and could not continue. In theory his "evil" could possess someone or something else but the organic material that is Micheal Myers physical form would be dead in this timeline. But thankfully Micheal Myers can always come back as long as the alternate timelines already in place within the series (such as the Thorn timeline, the Rob Zombie timeline, and the timeline of H20 and Resurection) can still be used to produce more Halloween films even if Carpenter does kill off the character from his own original timeline! Like the evil Micheal Myers represents he will always return as long as the fans continue to buy into the franchise! I personally would like to see a continuation of the Thorn timeline carrying on after H6! I'm also interested in seeing​what they are going to do with the Loomis character! Peace...

We all love John Carpenter, but Michael Myers IS OUR CHARACTER, and if he kills him off. Me and all the other Halloween fans will drive to his house and steal ALL the food from his fridge. I'm just fucking kidding, but still. He best not kill our Mike!!! And I don't know how I'd feel about a new Loomis. It may be awful, but then again, when The Dark Knight came out, I'm sure a lot of people thought Heath Ledger would be a shitty joker. But then he ended up being amazing. Perhaps someone actually can fill in Donald's shoes. And I really don't care that much about the timeline. As long as Michael isn't fucking killing dinosaurs, or battling aliens in space, then I really don't care about timeline. Anyway, I couldn't be more stoked for this movie. I don't think I've ever been this anxious for a movie to come out ever in my whole cutting life!!

Breen Machine but also this new movie is supposedly gonna start with the ending of the second one. but also I've heard that there not gonna show what happens to loomis or laurie and also another rumor is danny mcbride wants to get rid of the brother sister angle. which should have never happened in the first place, and also they might ignore the second one altogether. which means it would begin at the end of the first one where after michael gets shot and then walks away where another doctor and police are waiting for him. then they arrest him and he ends up on the chair waiting to die by lethal injection but he sees this woman and clenches his fists and pushes the poison out. kinda weird but would be cool and their ignoring rob zombies stupid remakes. sorry for the grammar but the best i can do

Making Michael Myers mortal and killing him would SUCK. Also Rob Zombie's vision sucked ,although in general it is a very entertaining movie ,but for true Michael Myers fans his take on Michael's origin fell short of complete satisfaction. Also speaking of killing Michael and his sister Laurie picks up the mantel of wearing the mask ,yes I agree that no one but Michael Myers should be the one behind the mask ,because the mask is a representation of who Michael Myers is. To me when you see the mask it's like you're seeing into Michael Myers soul. What lies beneath the anterior surface deep into the exterior. So the mask represents who Michael Myers is Psychologically. It's a part of his Psyche. Therefore having his sister pick up the mantel of wearing the mask was such a horrific insult to true fans of the Halloween Franchise. But I will say this if another Halloween movie ever gets made and produced where some idiotic script has Michael Myers being mortal and killed and his legacy living on,then I think it should definitely be through none other then his son Steven Like Father ,like son ,as the old adage goes . But seriously BAD FUCKING idea. Michael is the mask. The mask is Michael. They're one in the same.

Halloween H20 was the Perfect way to end the series, he could not be killed or it was very hard to kill him so Laure Strode Cut his head off that's the only was to kill him that was the perfect ending, as for the version of Michael Myers I prefer I prefer it if they kept Myer Mortal because it's much scarier if he is just a Mortal Crazy Guy who kills for no reason rather then a Supernatural unkillable person who kills because of some cult or some supernatural crap.

Carpenter needs to kill Michael... He never wanted him to survive past part 2. Rob got to do it right, i doubt he will admit it but it inspired him to finally do it himself. John Carpenter says himself he won't watch the original because he can't tolerate the mistakes. Rob Zombie fixed a lot of those in his version. its time for Mikey to actually die as originally intended
