In case anyone else runs into similar problems as me... Increasing minimum framerate in specControlSettings caused my game to crash as soon as it launched. I had to put minimum framerate = monitor refresh rate (144 for me). I found this to be fine since I use RTSS to cap at 141 anyways (based on sage's suggestion in video). This along with his nvidia profile inspector settings made my game butter (only difference for me is I use vsync = "fastsync" not "force on"). I only have a 3060 (albeit a beefy cpu to pair), and I get locked 141fps at 1440p medy-high settings. (can post game settings if anyone is interested).

I have everything set correctly and it works great! Only thing is I am still locked at 225 FPS in game. Did you happen to disable vertical sync in the profile inspector? You have it forced on in the other guide.

In this video I have it off to show the frame rate increase but leaving it on is fine. This will get you to that fps still but lower your latency and if you raised your render scale improve graphics

gamesager armor core incoming, keep doing the lords work i was about to slam my shit the new netcode update made rtss have some weird micro stutter issue when before it was BUTTER, note taken on the hardware accel i just turned mine off gonna see if it fixed the tearing you were explaining that i seem to have encountered after the update.

@gamesager just to update you the hardware accel deffinietly fixed the micro stutter/tearing issues that seemingly surfaced after he netcode update. Also adjusting my TARGET FPS in the file editor to 250 and setting my rtss cap to 250 like I usually do has made my game feel how it did before the update if not better sense I didn’t use the target FPS setting previously. I am super sensitive to micro stutters and tearing and I can honestly say my game feels incredible currently. I do follow through with the syncing of the monitor I rather use overdrive on my monitor to help with the tearing above my refresh rate and 250 seems to be the magic number with the highest overdrive setting that’s about 6 frames higher than my refresh rate for anyone wondering

As far as I know reflex built in game will make it use the reflex cap already so it’s best to just use the in game limiter. But you can change the frame pacing and frame feel if you use rtss. A lot of it will be situational and you’d have to test for every game. Since some people want the lowest possible input lag, but having consistent input lag and fluid motion is more important for some people. Fluid motion definitely helps tracking tho

@@Gamesager Yeah, I was testing a lot and g-sync with a 237 RTSS cap WITHOUT V-sync gives me the best results, smooth and responsive, with v-sync on (auto capped with reflex) i cant bunny hop anymore, so thats how I know it will give me the input lag, strange cause a lot of people are saying v-sync can be used with it and reflex nulifies the latency

i set minimun to 300 and when I scope in with the S7 the enemies and team mates look super blurry. Not sure if it's the same thing, but to achieve good visual fidelity while still playing at a low resolution scale, I have DSR factor at 2.25. I'd love to have a way to measure the input delay that creates but I haven't had issues running it like this. Feels fine.

@@Gamesager Actually, I did it again but went to 100% render res and upped the sharpening, and went to a mix of med / high graphics and everything looks good and still maintains 165 which is my monitors rate. Also not sure what sort of sorcery this is but I can "feel" less input delay. I have no way of actually measuring it other than my 2nd snipe off the first miss shoots right away. Before I could feel a tiny bit of hesitation before it fired. So thanks for this. =)

If you’re getting auto capped then you def still have vsync on. Auto cap only happens with vsync and gsync on

When I add the minimum number of frames in the file, then upon starting the game and being on the home screen, it closes. I tried 300 and 360. I have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and a GX27AQM 270Hz monitor. When I set it back to 0, it worked again.

Juanito here, i have a Mobile RTX 3080, i hear all mobile rtx 3080 perform as good as RTX 3060ti. Is my system trash? I'm not sure, some things work some things don't. but adding Reflex to Halo using your previous methods Worked. WORKS 100% my game lags at 1440p, idk if its stuttering but i can see the stuttering, i can't feel it though, which is pretty awesome. if the previous method worked, should i do this too? its up to me yes but do i really need to? should i?

Try this for sure on top of the previous method you used. This should only increase performance. So the only think you need to do is set the minimum frame rate and keep everything else how it was

@@Gamesager update: All I did was add Nvidia reflex to halo using your guide, I have Vrr on, with gsync on. HDR on. And also This method On. It works Well. Crazy well I can’t Believe it. But One problem. I can’t use ultra. Even at 1080p. I also tried 120% I hit 99 temps and got a little scared. Never hit 99c. Should I Undervolt Using the msi afterburner? Will that mess Up Anything? Or is 99c very Normal?

@@juanitoraymundo53 99c is really hot but not sure about for a laptop. But yeah this will basically use your whole pc way more which is why it works so good. If your laptops overheating I’d recommend lowering some settings or setting your min frame rate lower. Just make sure to use the external cap below whatever your min frame rate is set to

There are so many different variables to everything you're teaching people. Please make a warning disclaimer as everyone's hardware and software enviomrents differ from person to person. You can have all this knowledge for your rig, but I guarantee you someone's system is significantly worse now. Mose people can tell when you change things they're not right... Some people though are not as tech savvy nor have eyes that can pick up on such changes in their enviorment thus could be having a much worse gaming experience but not know.

yeah i explained actually that some of this is hardware dependent. the minimum frame rate increase should actually help regardless of your hardware tho.
