New Hampshire | Mt Monadnock Hike & Lake Monomonac Wild Swimming
Summer vacation is for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. New England is the perfect spot to experience the charms of summertime. Every summer since childhood we have stayed for a week in New Hampshire. This year we will be staying in a cottage on Lake Monomonac. We wanted to take you along on our visit and show you how we like to spend summer vacation. We use summer vacation as an intentional time to focus on nature, and nourishing our bodies and minds. We reconnected with nature by hiking Mount Monadnock. We took the Old Halfway House Trail to White Arrow Trail Loop. This is a 4.5 mile loop that is rated as difficult on All Trails. On our trip we spent time swimming, kayaking and canoeing on Lake Monomonac and disconnecting from technology by living fully in the moment. We also spent time nourishing our bodies with healthy whole foods and we will be showing you how we make a refreshing and tasty black bean dip. Black Bean Dip
Combine 2 cups of black beans, a couple diced tomatoes, ½ of a red onion, 1 cup of corn, and 2 diced avocados.
Mix together and then add a couple tablespoons of red wine vinegar, the juice of a fresh lime, and a pinch or two of salt and pepper to taste.
Stir and eat as a salad, or as dip with chips.

I lived on lake Monomonac from age 12-19 , went to high school in Jaffrey N.H. ( next town over from Rindge ), I had many many U.F.O. experiences ( Light Beings took me on secret journeys ) while living there ,I miss the lake and the woods , then I went to art school in Boston ( dropped out ! ), then I moved to New Mexico....I always knew I'd end up out west...I take vacations outside my body without substances...Thanks beautiful sisters !

Glad you liked my Mt Monadnock and the swim in Lake Monomonac. But did you happen to run into our Nessie while there or see any strange lights in the sky? NH nature photographer, backpacker, long-distance hiker. Anytime you all want to go to one of the best hikes with the most spectacular view from any Appalachian Trail shelter there is.

This is one of my favorite places in NH to vacation! The lake view from the cottage is beautiful and swimming is delightful as the water is pretty warm. Climbing Mount Monadnock is so much fun and usually, you get an incredible view, especially in the fall. I love to paddle around the lake as well. What an incredible and peaceful place to vacation and connect with nature. BTW, you two make the best black bean dip!
