South Yuba River Hiking and Swimming Adventure | Malakoff Diggins State Park, Hoyt’s Crossing and Purdon’s Crossing VLOG
Spontaneous adventure is a way of life for us. This weekend we decided to journey up to the South Yuba River State Park for an invigorating weekend of hot hikes and cool swims. South Yuba River State Park is a hidden gem in Northern California. It’s surrounded by serene nature, sweet spring blooms, and epic swimming spots. We spent time swimming and sunbathing at Hoyt’s Crossing and Purdon’s Crossing. Both spots offer cool clear water for swimming and epic boulders to sunbathe on.
We also spent time adventuring around the South Yuba Trail in Malakoff Diggins State Park. The trail offers lots of coniferous, cool shade, shelter from the hot sun and an abundance of Sweet Spring Wildflowers. We found some unique rock outcroppings, mossy streams, and listened to the serene river sounds while we hiked. The trail was completely empty and allowed us to connect fully with nature. The South Yuba River offered us sanctuary from bustling city life.
We hope you enjoy coming on this adventure with us, please like, subscribe, and comment on our channel to support our creations!

What a beautiful and tranquil area to hike and the icy mountain river swim looked like so much fun! Watching this great video reminded me of how important it is to preserve places like this. I have been celebrating Earth month by helping to educate kids on the importance of caring for our Earth and everyday ways we can all contribute.

@@WildWildWomen I like Chicago park power house upriver on either side of the split. Its in placer county off hwy80... Love bear valley off Bowman but the usual spots are crowded in summer. I still have places there between last chance mine Rd and the yuba that nobody goes too. Sierra buttes is amazing especially when there's still a little snow up on top. 8640' and a lookout tower there. I've hiked the buttes from both sides, packer lake and from the 4x4 trail by the dump. I'm working on documenting legends and myths of Nevada / Sierra county... Mostly mining legends , native legends and paranormal stuff. Got some very interesting stories. Be safe and encourage trash garbage pickup... People can be so messy! I would highly recommend you girls protect yourself. Bear spray at least if your not comfortable with firearms. There are felons , cartel members , and worse hiding out there. Greenhorn , youbet Rd, Tyler foot, North San Juan are pretty dangerous. I have law enforcement friends working that way and have heard accounts.

You neglected to mention that much of that lovely green ground cover you show on the trail and beside the river is poison oak. It thrives up here and can make your next week or so at home utter misery. Also you skipped giving a heads up about the rattlesnakes that share the ground. Watch where you step.

Thanks for the video, I used to dredge, pan and sluice for gold on the north and middle Forks of the Yuba River. There’s an old flume trail right near the crossing, did you ladies ever hike that one? There are so many wonderful swimming holes, off of Oregon creek was one of my favorite. Never had to worry if you forgot your swimming suit. I worked for the construction company the built the balcony in Nevada City on Broad and N Pine in ‘87 or ‘88. Thanks for the memories.

Note to tourists: be respectful of forest and locals. Pack out your trash. I hate videos making this already blown out river from social media people like yourselves more popular. The locals are over the disrespectful tourists. Watch yourself or there will be a fight. Also watch for lions, drowning in tunnels w no exits. If u find a plant with a 3 lobed leaf rub it all over yourself for protection from mosquitos
