Dude this was SUPER helpful! I got *almost* the same handguards as yours. None of the top recommended videos had installation process on these particular ones. Thanks a bunch

Wrote you a reply for how it went :) I added a link for something I bought bc the stock bar ends were finicky so youtube probably flagged it as potential spam

Thanks for posting this video! Just recently got a pair of handguards, and I couldn't figure out what the attachment point was on the inner part of the handguard last night. Going to give it another go tonight!

This really helped me i just bought the same handgards and i could find the way to install them properlly, i dont know if a like the amount of ajusting time i takes, but if once you ajust them they stay well i maght take the shot i try to install them follwing your video.

I'm glad it was of help. Let us know how the installation goes. The most difficult part is getting the screw loose, when you simply unscrew with a screw deriver, the whole unit including the bar end inside will turn together, which doesn't mean the screw is coming off. You need to hold the black bar end weight with a big pliers or some other tool while you unscrew. Cover it with a cloth so you don't scratch it with pliers. If you have no such tools, a real machine shop with proper tools can simply brake loose the screw so that you can easily unscrew it with a screwderiver. Cheers!

You are not supposed to remove bar ends because you dont get spacers with those henadguards, and that is why your throttle gets stuck. Put bar ends in between.
@TheRideandPlace Жыл бұрын
Hi. I installed together with the bar ends. You can see that part around minute 3:05. And since the original bar end is a little shorter (because the hand quard is a little wider), I later replaced the original bar end with an after-market one to get a perfect fit for the handguards. Thanks for the input. Cheers!

A big plus is the guards keep the rain from hitting your hands at highway speeds which can be pretty painful

Yes, and that too. It is a very valuable investment on a motorcycle. Cheers where ever you are and stay safe!

hi! how do you remove the end bars? just unscrew it? a little tight for me, just need a little effort, right?
@TheRideandPlace2 жыл бұрын
Hey, sorry for late reply. Yes, the screw is very tight and very difficult to undo. The trick is, use a screw deriver and a hammer to hit the bar end( black metal) outwards a little. Once it is out a little, look in the middle towards the bar metal, there is a metal clip holding things in place, use a screw deriver to wedge the clip out of place (doing both top and down little by little). Once the clip is out, you should be able to pull the whole bar end assembly out by hand. There are 2 rubbers keeping the bar end in place inside the bar itself, the inner one may not come out with the assembly but you can easily bring it out with something like a metal hanger. The reverse of this process will get the assembly back in. I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

thanks for sharing. How do you feel about the quality of the hand guard, i.e. it doesn't have a steel structure and not sure whether it will protect the lever or not when falling. Cheers
@TheRideandPlace2 жыл бұрын
It is just steady bendable plastic, just like the OEM that comes on BMW GS bikes so it cannot offer the protection that one with steel metal will but the bike has been pushed down twice by Typhoon and there are only minor scratches on the side of the handguad. For now, it does the job protecting my hands from cold wind especially in winter, plus some minimal protection in case something heads for the direction of my hand. Hope this helps. Cheers!

How did you remove the screw from the end of the bars? It’s so tight the full thing spins. Thanks
@TheRideandPlace Жыл бұрын
I used a screwdriver and a hammer to move the black end slightly away from the bar and then when you look inside there's a hook in the opening that is supposed to stop the bar end from falling out. Use something to pinch that circular hook out and then pull the whole bar end assembly out. The bar end has 2 rubbers inside that help keep the assembly stable, sometimes they get stuck in the tube, if that happens you can use something like a hanger to get it out, because you'll need it when you put the bar end back in later. Once you get the whole assembly out, with some strong tools holding the bar end, and with some power, you can undo the screw. Otherwise, any shop that has proper tools can help you undo it. After taking mine out, I took it to a tools shop and they used their tools to undo the screw for me. I hope this explanation helps. Cheers!

What brand are these handguards? Link to any website?
@TheRideandPlace4 жыл бұрын
The handguards I got are of no specific brand but they look high quality and have worked well so far. I bought them in China on taobao.com but I think you can get them on aliexpress (mostly international) as well.
