Use washers....... I had rivet pull threw. If you use screws or bolts you might not need worry about replacing but rivets duck to remove.

With the nuts I have not found a need for washers, I try to not use rivets on anything aside from metal. Thanks for watching. Patrick

How did you get the nuts attached to the screws? You didn't show that...

Sorry I could not get my camera inside the kayak to show that but you can see me place my hand inside to show there is noting inside to hit. You can reach both bolts from the front on my boat. Thanks for watching. Patrick

OK. My kayak is not open for me to reach the back side of a bolt. Is there any other attachment mechanism that would be durable that you know of? Thanks...

That would make it hard, but first thought was a Crown Bolt like used for hallow walls. Be sure to put bolt threw handle before you put Crown threw kayak. Patrick

What size was your drill bit?

Mine was a 1/4" but you need to fit your bit to your bolt.
