There is a second confirmed location! There is another abandoned camp to the northwest of the location showcased here. Another note: The glider remained where I left it when I logged off and logged back on.

I found two this evening, and none of them were this one, so that's at least three now. There's also one in the far North West of the island.

To be specific it's near the cliff between the shotgun location and the kayak where you can get a binocular and virginia's outfit. So there's 3 confirmed location the other one is near the snow mountain spawn right between the 2 caves just below. So might as well check every cliff in the map 🤣

You can fly, you just just have swoop downwards and pull up once you have gained significant speed. I usually know by the sound of the wind whirring. You can build speed and elevate from anywhere you just need practice and build speed and altitude before heading to higher elevations. All you need for a launching point is short hill and maybe a rock or of course a cliff makes it easier.

there’s an easy way to gain altitude. If you’re starting off high enough, point your heading all the way down (D), and the second you can’t look down anymore, you can pull up, and you should gain more altitude than you started with. Takes a bit of getting used to but works so well

in the original game we'd build launch towers to start glider flights from, also there was a collision glitch in the game where you could launch yourself into the air and of course if you had the glider in hand at the same time you'd start gliding, but ultimately ziplines were still the way to go even back then

Nice one! There at least 2 for sure maybe 3. Time will tell. In the meantime I worked out how to take it across a Zipline but it's highly impractical. Might play with it some more to find a good use for the info. The glider respawns after every save and you you pick up 2 gliders.. sort of. 😂 One stays behind and the other comes with you on the zip. Made a short about it. Cheers!

Weirdly the top of the map isn't north, it's east. Sun rises there are spectacular from my small home right above the cave.

I found one completely by accident on a different spot on a mountain, flew around for a while and when I landed I went to a cliff overlooking the sea and found another one

Just build a tower to be able to hop off of and fly around. Place towers around the map and youre set

I think there gonna add a fan type item batterie powered ofc and hopefully in that update comes the battery recharger and solar panels.. honestly i only play the stories once get all the endings and then just play survival its fun but kinda annoying cause the original game technically wasn’t ment to be played like that but this game gives the option so hopefully they add more in-depth survival elements like an electronics system(unlikely) but one can only dream lol

since there is 2 high up im guessing they are just kinda shortcuts to get allt he way down once your done up top- in which case they may never bother letting you fold them up.. I dont think they want you easily and constantly using them to get about.

@4:20 :p... They call that an "Artificial Horizon". In planes, at least... I would imagine it's the same for a hang glider. They ARE both, technically, classified as "aircraft".

I pushed my hang glider off the starting point. Luckily I had my binoculars to watch it fall. After lugging it back up took my first flight and it was worth it. Hope we can get a wing suit next. Don't have to worry about dropping it down a mountain that im supposed to fly off of...

Seems like making a base where it spawns , makes for a good solution for now, at least if it spawns back on login like other stuff does. You could get anywhere on the map after login each time ;)

The glider location should be considered when choosing your base location. Since it respawn you can Always use it to get somewhere, maybe comeback, maybe not. I wish we could destroy it, so it does not acumulate in the map.

doesnt matter what i do, when i grab the glider it just points straight down and crashes me into trees....thank god i saved it at the camp right next to it....but atm I cannot figure out how to fly level......everything i do doesnt change the AoA of the glider ? it aims straight down and thats all I can do.

no an altimeter measures height, the green light seems to act more like a gyroscope

I flew around the whole island, and returned about 20 feet lower than my launch point. Unfortunately, the glider immediately slid down the mountain. Point is, if the ball is in the middle, you lose zero altitude. Now, all we need is a thermal, or some ridge lift. C'mon devs.

You can gain speed/altitude, just dive and pull up after a few seconds and keep the glider at an upward plane from there. It takes a bit of practice.

SotF seems to be not much more than eye-candy - a lot of the stuff seems completely pointless. Base building seems pointless, when pushing forward is the way to go, otherwise you just spend the time fending off annoyed neighbours. Ok, Ok, early access...but it's kinda a sham.
