Just got the one under it and saved $100 bucks, the gear mech frightened me after looking it over good in the store ... you know this stuffs made in China?!! Like to see LTR on gear head, thanks for your video.

After spinning a fully dressed 7.3 on it dozens of times to install various components, I can say it held up great!! Also…..the phone I am typing this response on is made in China, so there is that.

If you get the center of gravity of the engine close to the engine stand shaft it won't be hard to turn. On a 7.3 the top two trans bolt holes should be as low as you can and at that point it is not hard to turn at all.

yes, a long term review after teardown and assembly of this heavy engine is a must!

I want to mount my 12 valve Cummins “side ways” on a engine stand from the motor mount pads in order to work the rear seal and oil pan area. I hate leaks and my Cummins needs a complete reseal job! I was going to build some sort of “support” for the side of the motor “unsupported” to stabilize the motor or get the HF 2000lb model and work out how to rotate the beast until I seen this 1500lb rotator stand by HF, but now seeing the Powerstroke on the stand I might give it a try!

Yeah, i was honestly pretty surprised it didn’t sag at all when I let the engine down on it.

I just mounted my Cummins sideways on the engine mount area. I had to use the adjustable mounts that come with the engine stand. Works great just had to buy som metric 12 1.75 pitch bolts can’t remember the length. That’s all I needed though Before I got the Daytona stand I had it sitting on a 1000 lb stand and although it held it up I wouldn’t recommend it, so off to harbor freight in my area and wanted a 2000 stand but ended up with this 1500 model due to the 2000 model being sold out

@@kxp.1496 Thank you for letting me know! This will make the re-seal job much easier.

I built an engine rotator using the HF 2000lb stand (I have a video of the build on my channel), but I recently purchased a Matco 1500lb rotating stand, like the Daytona you reviewed in this video, at an auto shop auction for $50 and I like it A LOT better than the one I built. It's been a year since you made this video, are you going to do a long-term review video?

I am about to put a 5.8 Ford small block on it, so I could do a long term. I had the 7.3 on it for months, rotated it dozens of times throughout the process and loved the stand. After a life of muscling engines over on a traditional stand, the gearbox setup is AMAZING.

On my stand, the shaft bearing was sealed so none of the grease actually gets in the bearing.

Yes, long term review is that I have had the 7.3 on it for several months, and rotated it around several times with no problems. Very pleased.

Thanks for the video. Just an observation with a question. You are walking and working under the fork you used for a lift. Why take that chance?

You are not wrong! Just too much “red neck’n” around here. Ever watch the old safety movie “Shaking hands with Danger?” 😂

I was going to guess 1200 with turbo and everything. Maybe I should buy a scale.
