NEW HD: Blue Öyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper (Live) 10/9/1981 [2021 Digital Restoration]

Blue Öyster Cult performs "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" live at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Hollywood, Florida on October 9, 1981. Taken from the new, HD remaster I performed myself.
Note: Any "more cowbell" comments are highly discouraged. If you leave a cheeky "more cowbell" comment your punishment shall result in downvoting and public ridicule from the true Blue Öyster Cult fans! I know this can't be helped and the rule will most likely be broken, so to those BÖC fans participating in the public ridicule, keep it civil chaps. We're better than them.
The video has received a major upgrade. The original release was exported at the incorrect framerate and had some severe interlacing issues... those have now been fixed! I ripped the video directly from the DVD at the highest quality possible and balanced the color, brightness, and contrast. Obviously it's not going to be perfect, it's a 2nd generation master (a.k.a. a copy of a copy) of a TV program from 1981, but I believe I've pulled the best image I can off of the analogue video signal.
The audio has also received an upgrade, instead of coming from the audio bootleg, I've ripped the audio directly from my CD of the 2012 remaster of "Extraterrestrial Live" (also in the highest quality possible) since it's the same performance.
I knew if I was going to do this again, I was going to do it RIGHT, no matter how much time it took. I plan to make this the definitive version of this particular footage. The ONLY way I could possibly make this better quality is if I had access to the master tape from MTV and the unedited soundboard performance from Blue Öyster Cult's archives... obviously that's not going to happen unless I receive an offer from BÖC themselves, so this should be the best version under the current circumstances.

Unreal! The fact ive been binging this song for the past 17 years and only heard this version now is a totally heartbreaking moment. That weird retro Atari sound in the back layers around the 1:40 mark is amazing. If i was musically inclined i might be able to elaborate better but there seems to be like multiple layers that are much more pronounced throughout the song which make this version seem like a totally different version altogether and for me personally has reinvigorated a song ive well and truly replayed over and over. Feels fresh now :)

You do realize BOC has embraced the cowbell meme and so have true fans, right? If you watch live videos in recent years, you can see them doing the air cowbell /watch?v=xa0x4rF4RAo Even Dharma said the skit was great for exposure of the band to newer audiences "especially young people" So to say they and true fans "hate" the cowbell and those who bring it up will be "punished" is just straight fanboying/white knighting. btw, I was a fan of BOC long before the skit, still am
