Girl! You’re good! You are human and having ups and downs. My Daughter has UC and getting infusions for it as it flared up in a severe state. It’s a process and time will tell. Lifting you in prayers during this time and as a caregiver on top of all that. I can’t even imagine what you’re going through. It was tough enough caring for My dad who had vascular dementia. He cared for his wife aka m step mom for at least 5 years with Alzheimer’s. I can only have a glimpse of what it’s like 24/7. Praying for you all and I LOVE your channel!! Keep putting out any content you feel. God will use it to reach someone you have no idea needs it! Be led by Him and he will use you for his glory. God bless.

My entire life, my Mother called me a hypochondriac and told my siblings, my doctor's, my husband that there was never really anything wrong with me, I was just a hypochondriac. As a result, I would just keep my symptoms to myself and push through. I took have primary immunodeficiency. I am now 70 years old with rheumatoid arthritis and stage 4 kidney failure. Never let anyone do to you what my mother did to me. She also told me I had no pain tolerance. Therefore, no matter now much I hurt, I would hide it or downplay it because I felt like a failure when I was in pain or was ill. I am so sorry for your diagnosis. Unless they are dealing with it themselves, no one else can relate. Man, the charlie horses are so bad sometimes! Why do they almost always happen at night? I will pray for you, Leslie.

Hi Leslie. I’m so very sorry for all you’ve been through! I was dismissed for many years as well by a myriad of drs and specialists. As a junior in high school, I became incredibly weak and would run fevers and after a very stressful time, I got a horrible strep infection and afterwards I was so weak that I stopped going to school the 2nd semester. My dr ran many tests, but never found anything. After 4-6 months, my strength came back. Throughout times, I would become very weak and could barely function. Then, in my late 30s, I was paralyzed on my lower right side. The neurologists found lesions on my brain and suspected MS, but they weren’t in the typical area of the brain. Over a few months, I eventually could walk again. I was diagnosed with the old term for CIS and the swelling around my spinal cord was named as the culprit. I continued to have all kinds of symptoms, but was dismissed. Ten years later, I was completely paralyzed on my right side and my dr sent me to an MS Specialist who did a myriad of tests over 3 months before diagnosing me with MS. He reviewed the old MRIs and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t diagnosed 10 years earlier and concluded that my first bout was as a teenager. I was depressed for many years and after being on an incredible treatment for MS, that’s all gone, as well. Ocrevus gave me my life back after being on it for a couple years. I was able to get out of my power wheelchair and walk again. It’s horrible being dismissed by drs as having mental illness when you know that it’s so much more. I’m so sorry you went through so much, Leslie. Having Jesus by your side is an incredible source of comfort, but I know your burdens are very difficult to carry. I’ll be praying for you! Sending much love to you and Jason.

Part of our abode is our real life, including the struggles - and as I’ve shared with you, your honesty led me to answers in my own health for the first time in YEARS. You. Are. A. Blessing. Also - I don’t like hearing you say ‘I shouldn’t feel (frustrated). I should be grateful.’ Nooooooo. Your feelings are completely valid and don’t have to be rainbows and sunshine 24/7. What you’re going through is HARD. It’s more than ok to say so. ❤

Hi Fran. I definitely know how you feel. I was diagnosed with RA when I was in my late 20's, I recently celebrated by 58th birthday. It is definitely a struggle. And what people don't understand about RA is it is an autoimmune disease, it's NOT a joint disease. I have a small rheumatoid nodule on each of my lungs. That's called Rheumatic Lung Disease and requires a totally different medication regimen. Thankfully, I am not at the point of having to start that...yet. I have severe osteoporosis from being on and off steriods so much, that makes me a high fracture risk. I sustained a fracture in my spine (T9) in my 40's just by moving the wrong way. RA has caused problems with my eyes, skin and vocal cords. And the side affects from the RA treatments can sometime be as difficult as the RA itself. As I'm sure you know, it is very hard to make future plans because you never know when you will have a flare. If you have a flare during vacation, not only do you suffer with the pain, you feel like you are keeping others from enjoying themselves. When I have good days, I feel like I have to play catch up on things that have been neglected. Sorry for the long reply. I just wanted to say to give yourself grace when you are having a bad day and make the most of the good days. I will keep you in my prayers.

I’m so grateful for your video, especially where I am today. Seven years ago I was diagnosed with three autoimmune diseases. I am now starting my fourth biologic because of some potential severe side effects. So, last February I had extensive hand surgery for joint repairs. Did great, but the thing is, you can’t take your treatments for more than a month during surgery. So, I’m June, I had foot surgery-same thing-joint surgery. Six months later, my bones did not fuse back together. So, a more extensive surgery was done in February. I was doing great and started back my treatments. A week after starting it, it caused MRSA that spread to the bone. Another surgery in March followed by a month of IV and oral antibiotics. Now, almost a year without treatments, I’m struggling. I’m 65 but feel like I’m 90. I did just start back my new treatment this week, and like you I wanted to feel somewhat great, but nothing. I know, from experience, it does take, realistically anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to feel a lot better. But, to be honest, right now I just feel done. I, too, was a nurse and I know four surgeries in 10 months is a lot and will take some time to get over. So, I’m so glad to see your video today. It’s like now I know I’m not alone. It’s so hard for our families to truly understand. So, thank you, and please keep us updated on your progress!

I totally understand being discouraged when you know you are blessed. I just did chemo all winter then lumpectomy and now radiation. I am taking a antibody/chemo treatment every 3 weeks. I am so grateful this is saving me but the side effects are terrible! Intense stomach pain. I just pray, pray, pray, pray!!! Hang in there, I will pray for you!

Leslie, I do not know how you do it! You have the challenge of taking care of Jason and you feel so awful most of the time it just amazes me how you carry on. I’m so thankful that you really can manage to do what you’re doing.

I get iron infusions to help me with my energy, but I also feel it is never enough. But… I am 79 years old so I know that I will not feel like I am 50 again . I have nothing to the extent of what you are dealing with. My heart goes out to you. You have a lot on your plate. Never feel like you need to do a video when your wagon is dragging. We love you. We want to know how you are. And when you feel better you can say hello. ❤

Yes, continue to update us. I have a sister who is continually sick and we never knew there as such a thing as immunodeficiency so this is helpful. Thank you for being so honest about the treatment.
