I have 5 different shotguns and my side by side Stoeger Coach Gun is by FAR my most favorite to shoot. I don't care how reliable a 590 is or how fast a 1301 can go, if we're talking purely about a fun range day, break action double barrels win every single time

Springfield remade the Browning Hi-Power, even improved upon it, and where I leave, those guns never go higher than $699.99 brand new. And the Hi-Power is considered a better firearm in general. So there is a way to keep it inexpensive and still accurate and reliable.

I have a Stoeger coach gun. Bought it just for fun but really enjoyed it at the range. You actually can do a lot worse for home defense than having a coach gun backed up with a good pistol or revolver. Quick, compact, handy, easy to operate, devastating.

That appears to be a Huglu manufactured shotgun. The same manufacturer that makers the CZ doubles. I have a CZ sharptail coach made by them. Very well made gun.

There is one. It's the Rock Island Coach gun. It has "ejectors" that don't "eject" all the way so it is qualified for Cowboy shoots. It also has external hammers. It's a bit hard to get but it is available at Grab and Buds for $479. I have one and it's super nice. Added this: Rock Island Armory Walnut 12 Gauge 3in Side by Side Shotgun - 24in - The Side by Side Shotgun is the classic modern shotgun that can always be relied on. It has external hammers, double trigger, and auto ejectors that make it always cowboy ready. Aluminum Receiver and Walnut Stock gives all the classical attributes. Chambered for 2 3/4in and 3in shells.

man it's crazy how compact those double barrels are. I get that it's because there is really nothing but a hammer and a chamber. But still with legal regs keeping shotties at 18 inches being able to compact them like that would be cool. Downside you only got 2 shots. though triple barrels do exist.

I picked up one last year a stoeger coach gun for 400 bucks at Dicks, it a coach gun, no matter one there all holding 2 rounds and they are basically the same!! It’s not like it’s a semiautomatic and have to be a little particular in your purchase. For that exact 600 bucks you spent on this one you can buy a bunch of ammo or another shotgun, a decent pump action And have two shotguns for the same price
