These are my go to cans, with the super grills and a beautifully made balanced cable i have found a whole new appreciation of tracks i have listened to many times, i use them with a Zen Dac 2 or a Hip Dac 2 both if which drive them with ease.

As I just got a set of the Edition XS Super Grills (haven't installed yet), love the idea of a convertible closed back EDXS and looking forward to its development if you feel you can make it work. Really appreciate all the effort you put into all of this!

Would 3d printing the supergrill with resin instead of pla + change the sound noticeably? Having this mod printed in clear resin would look amazing

Any ridged material would be fine. If you need supports, they would have to be on the side that is not touching the driver

You should try some modding on the fiio jt1, they have a lot of room and potential. Love the channel

Have the Super Grills been updated or are they still the same as in the last videos? Not sure if mine already have that cutout to remove them.

There have just been some small tweaks to the design - the main one being how the clips work. I think your's should have the little cutout to remove them, if is a small 3mm wide hole off centre near the bottom of the grille.

@@CustomCans Ah, ok - I bought the STL files last year. If I download them again from your website, will these then be the updated versions or the old STL-files that I initially purchased? Edit: Just checked - redownloaded them and got the STL-files with the updated clip design. Awesome!

No, as long as they have printed nicely they will go straight in. Print them with the hexagons flat on the bed and they will print with no support - just check them over to see is any stringing needs removing before you install them

@@CustomCans I'm pretty sure I watched all your main videos and checked the shorts which I often miss but saw nothing. Where was the draw if I may ask? Great idea to have an open pair of headphones that you can convert to closed-back. I'm assuming the sound signatures will be different but that's a good thing (for variety) as long as it still sounds great.

@elliotkubath670 No they should sound the same, Just tweaked a few things like re-designing the clips to make them less prone to breaking off during install and some other small changes to make them easier for people to print

have not been here for a while :x and im sad... today broke a solder point on an custom cable i bought from u, a few (3-4) years ago :o it had an 2,5 plug (that broke)... but... ^^ its like an opportunity... my new amp has only 3.5 and 4.4 xD so I ordered instantly some 4.4 plugs to swap ^^

I'd happily pay you a few quid for an STL file of the Hifiman Comfort Headband Strap so I can print it myself with TPU.

That is not something I had though of. I have one of our printers loaded up with TPU at the moment so will give it a go and let you know. I don't have it as a 3D file at the moment but should be easy enough to whip up
