I have a Rogen 2, an Allak 3, and a Tarra. While they are all excellent and serve their different purposes, the Rogen is my favourite and gets the most use. Light, strong, great ventilation, and so quick and easy to set up and take down. I've always wanted Hilleberg to make a Rogen 3, so today is a great day! I like the added guylines, although I already use the existing loops on my Rogen 2's vestibules to do what Hilleberg has done with the Rogen 3's vestibules. Thank you Hilleberg! You can have my money in the spring!

Petra, you just made my day. I’ve been fantasizing, and hoping that Hilleberg would make a tent like the Saivo 4. And now you’ve actually launched it. It’s almost like I can’t believe it. The last years I’ve been using my Allak 2 at base camp when hiking/climbing 2000 meter peaks in Jotunheimen. However, I’ve always wished that I could have a bit more space, and headroom. Because when I’m living in my tent for maybe a week at a time, I like to be as comfortable as possible. I have wished Hilleberg would do something like this, and now my wish has come true. The Saivo 4 will be my next tent. I’m so happy right now. ATB from Norway 🇳🇴

A lot of people are moving to sleeping pads that are 25 inches wide. If you create a 3 or 4 person tent, it would be good to be able to get wide pads in for the stated occupancy of the tent. Most of these tents do not allow for this despite being sold as base camp tents. Great brand and quality but a lost opportunity for two new tent designs?

@user-zj4ru3yf9tnot everyone will want to spend more to do that when the video sells the tents as three or four person tents. There is no Rogan 4 to fit three people on this theory. So you then have to look at a different tent. The point remains.

During expedition if u r pro u r rocking narrow pad to save weight and volume. Extra space in tent is nice but not necessary as it mean more weight to carry .the smaller footprint the smaller wind resistance. Hilleberg is specialising in expedition tents so their measurements make sense. They make best tents in the world,not perfect but best .

Petra great to see you bringing good news. Love my Hillebergs. I stake my life on them at times. Good to see a bigger Saivo. My three is one tough tent. Stands up to about any condition that can be thrown at it. The Rogen 3 is of great interest to me. I do a lot of RTW motorcycle camping sometimes in snow but I try to avoid that unnecessary situation. When one is forced to stay in a tent due to inclimate conditions it's nice to have room for one or two people and their gear. When m/c, atv traveling as much as backpacking Alaska Sweden or Norway one must bring everything they can for total self-sufficiency. Light weight is critical at times. At five pounds it will be very welcome. I'll be glad to have the opportunity to check these additional models out. Thanks again.

Amazing. Can you tell the main differences in use /application between the Saitaris and Saivo 4?

If you look at both the Saitaris and Saivo dimensions, they seem very similar in size, but the Saivo 4 really has a lot more volume. We are keeping the Saitaris in the range for now since many people love it and it’s extended vestibule, but the configuration of the Saivo 4 gives it more volume and strength. Both are great for base camp use and for any time when you expect heavy snow loads and severe weather, but for extra comfort, go with the Saivo 4.

My first thought when I saw Saivo 4 was why choose it when Saitaris on paper looks to be almost the same inner tent size but have the GT vestibule and is 0.2 kg lighter. May I suggest to create an in depth comparison video between the Saivo 4 and Saitaris that really shows the differences? Do you have numbers on the volume and strength for the Saitaris and Saivo 4 to share for comparisons? Thanks! Btw, love your tents! I think the Rogen 3 will be a big success!

The new Saivo looks great, as the small vestibules used to be a negative point on tents designed for such extreme conditions. While you guys are feeling creative, is there any chance you could make red label versions of your Nammatj? It is such a great tent, superior in design to the Nallo (mainly because of the vastly improved venting), but black label conditions are encountered too rarely to warrant the extra weight.

Petra.. I have only owned the Staika, can the Yellow labels handle the Northern Swedish shoulder seasons? The Rogan 3 looks amazing! :)

Glad you like it! Yes, we use it in the shoulder season. It is plenty strong enough for most weather you would encounter, but if it is very cold outside, it will be colder and draftier than our Red and Black label tents, but as long as you keep that in mind and prepare for it with your gear, it is a great choice.

I have a Stika, an Akto, and a Tarp 10UL. The Akto and the Tarp 10UL I love and are amazing tents that fill a specific need. The Stika isn’t what I hoped but I’ve used it often, it just doesn’t fill the need. I need to order a Nammajt 2GT in Sand and the footprint to go with it for elk hunting. I absolutely love my Hilleberg products.

@@alessandropizzocaro7506 There is nothing wrong with the Stika other than it’s not quit right for my application. The two vestibules don’t allow me to store all my gear in one place. When I have a pack, bow and the gear I need to survive in the rugged backcountry and need to keep my gear consolidated it doesn’t all fit in one vestibule. The Stika has been a great tent and especially so in windy conditions, I’ve experienced 70 mph winds in my Stika. It just doesn’t fit my need.

They look good, especially the Saivo 4. With the Rogen if there remains only a single crossing point for the inner tent the head and shoulder space isn’t there for two people sitting up (same as Niak). In contrast, the Allak’s third pole creates good volume at shoulder and head height making it very suitable for two or three people to occupy these tents.

The short pole on the Rogen 2 and 3 does give a bit more space in the inner tent, so sitting up is not an issue. 😊

I have a Rogen that replaced my 15 year old MSR Hubba Hebba. I also just picked up a Staika fir motorcycle camping. I really like the Staika for the roominess and strength compared to the Rogen. If there was a Staika 3, Taft would be an ideal all around moto and winter camping. I will now taje a hard look at the Rogen 3. With a quick look at the specs it appears to have the height and width to make this a great theee season moto tent.

I have had the Allak two man tent since they first came out whilst a good solid four season tent it does suffer from extreme high winds eventually stretching the door fabric so it bows inwards cause water to enter the vestibule area, there is no way to tighten the sag. Hilleberg tents are extremely expensive and are the fabrics really the best there is? 🤔

For me: the Saivo 4 and .... !! still the Keron 4 GT are your toptents now. 🙂 The Saitaris is now a little bit outdated I guess. The Rogen 3 is right in between other Hilleberg choises but as the Alak 3 not as strong: a compromise well made as long as you consider it to be just that.

Are you guys planning on bringing mesh inner tents to market for the Savio 3 and 4? I love your mesh tents because they allow you to use one tent for every season. Right now your only black label free standing tent with a mesh inner offering is the Staika which to be honest is a bit outdated compared to the Savio. I would love to know this before this fall hopefully when I'm gonna make my tent purchase as I'm sort of feeling forced into the Staika if I want a single end all be all tent that's free standing.

Why not make a tent like Exped Venus III the older model with internal height of 1.5 m? It´s perfect for sitting in a lightweight camping chair waiting for bad weather to pass and you can move around sitting on your knees instead of crawling, it also makes it easy for changing clothes. I use it for bicycle touring so the weight is not very important but it should be in the 5kg range. It is similar to Rogen in the sense that it has two vestibules with easy access but it is not a dome tent, It´s a mix of tunnel and free-standing.

The Saivo 4 vestibule is quite big, some bikes could fit in there depending on the size. Otherwise, the Keron 4 GT or Kaitum 4 GT can fit many kinds of bikes.

Allak 3 is a 4 season (made for real winter weather) tent. Rogen is not made for snow use, one reason being the ventilation is from the bottom of the tent (ergo, snow blocks ventilation)

The Allak is in our Red label, all-season line. All of our all-season tents in the Red and Black labels have outer tents that go all the way to the ground and all mesh panels can be closed with regular fabric panels. They also have at least one vent placed high up for added venting. They also have our strongest fabrics. The yellow label tents, which Rogen 3 is one of, are for the snow free and warmer times of the year. They have large mesh panels and a catenary patterning on the outer tent that allows for air-flow. They are very strong, they use the same 9mm poles as our Red label tent, but they are not made for winter conditions.

I like Hilleberg tents a lot…but they are too expensive for me. Instead I picked up a new North Face VE-25 for under $500. They are one of the most popular tents on Everest and weigh about 10 pounds for a three person tent….cheers !

We used to have Keron 2 but we discontinued it. The weight difference between it and the Keron 3 was not big enough to warrant the smaller size between them for most people, so we had to discontinue it.

Nice but Hilleberg tents are sometimes more expensive than my car! Anyway to be honest my old Vango F10 Nitro 200 has stood up to everything for the last decade and more so no need for your expensive tents. The Vango F10 Nitro 200 light I have is just 1.48kg so again no need for your heavy tents 😊

It may be considered a 3-season tent in Scandinavian countries, I consider it a stronger 4-season tent here in America than many other brands so-called 4-season tents. No, they are not. If you use the tent 20 nights a year, 10 years, it ends up at appr 8USD/night. Yellow label line even less. Other manufacturers of similar quality tents are not cheap eather. So, over time, cost is a non-issue.
