Bro, I just went out Tuesday night (6-9) and didn't even see one boil anywhere on the lake. It was a last minute trip and I realized on the way home looking at a mega FULL moon that the previous night had to also be a full moon. Of course I wasn't keeping track of the moons! Oh well, I enjoy your videos and I appreciated your advice the one time I ran into you on the water last year. Fish on buddy! -Arie

Yes, the fullmoon does play a big role when comes to fishing...fish aren't that active once full moon...see you around...thanks

​@@YPVADVENTURESnegative, the fish (stripers) become more active a few days before and a few days after a full moon. This also affects the large mouth bass the same way... trout fishing is the fish that get affected by the full moon, they are less active...

I was there last Tuesday and Wednesday and the full moon DEFINITELY slowed the bite! What few boils that did come up went away seconds later! Every Tom Dick and Harry was running their boats full speed at them as well! Fly trolling hardly worked either. There's always next time, I guess?

Yes, fullmoon does play a big role...it slows the bite down and they don't stay up very long.

That's the Donkey rig ( double fluke ) it's very sample, required 2 swivels. Bottom lure leader length abt 2.5 ft to 3 ft connected to first swivel and upper lure lenght abt 2 ft connected to the 2nd swivel. Run the main line through the top swivel eye ( 2ft leader lure), and tie to the bottom swivel eye. Top lure should be able to slide freely. Hope that help...or you can google up...there's alot of videos at that rig. Thanks

This Lake has a limit of 10 stripers no sizes, 5 bass- 12 inch and above, 25 bluegills, no limit on catfish and carp.

It's all depending on the schools of fish, some can boil throughout the days constantly and some about every 5,10, 20, 30 mints...

I would avoid weekends...too many jet ski and boat water riding...Hogan Lake stripers are very sensitive to boat noise.

that was a great day !! what time of day was this ??? I've only fished Hogan 1 time since i got my boat heard about the krazy striper boils so I came to Hogan but every time I'd see a boil start and motor over to um some JACK ASS in a much faster boat would deliberately cut me off fly up to um and disperse the fish ... seen him make a few cast but he never caught a thing ....I was Like DUMBASS from all the videos I've watched about striper boils ... you don't haul ass right un next/ on top to them ... UGH I'll have to come back and try again //

When it comes to chasing boils, not alot Fisherman know how to fish. Most guys will run right into the boil killing the whole entire boil. Or if they see a boil and there's already another guy making cast on to that boil, don't go flying across the lake trying to make your cast, which you'll end up killing the whole entire boils. Just let that boat have its moment with that boil. These stripers are very sensitive to boat noise, so you'll have to come up in a good distance and drop your trolling motor and creep up to it. I usually stay within a casting distance, knowing how far your rod can cast out...that will help keep the boil last longer, not killing it right away. Keep trying you'll eventually get them. @@YPVADVENTURES YA .. that’s what I thought too 👍👊( I’ve never really fished Striper boils before mainly bass fishing ) (BUT same principles apply ) I can see if your a long ways away firing up your motor but YA shut down at least 30 -40 yrd away an trolling motor with in casting 🤷‍♂️.
