Please know that you aren’t alone in feeling that way. I find it so hard to get out of that headspace once I’m in it and it’s so hard for others on the outside to understand because it’s really hard to explain. Thank you for being so open and honest about it xx

Laura, it sounds like you have been suffering from anxiety and depression. I have suffered with it since my twenties. I am now 57. Finally, at forty, I saw a dr. and therapist. I started medication, and it does help immensely. My only regret is that I didn't seek treatment sooner. I still have some down days, but it is much better. I hope this helps. Our mental health is just as important as our physical health❤

We all get like that and this way of thinking. When it happens it is never nice. Zone out. Take time to recoup and get into a better headspace how you choose. Bounce back when your ready x

Dear, sweet Laura, you are not alone in your feelings. It could be a number of reasons: a hormonal imbalance, prementrual, the weather, a sadness because the wonderful holidays are behind us, some depression. We love you and sooo appreciate your honesty and transparency. Thank you for being you and sharing your beautiful self with the world!

Hi Laura, There was a time when I also struggles to focus and found it tough to read. First off, I want to remind you that this is completely normal, especially for women in their 30s. Our bodies and minds go through a lot, and it’s okay to feel off sometimes. That said, I think it’s fantastic that you’ve turned to Audible books! It’s a smart way to keep your mind engaged without the pressure of traditional reading. I encourage you to embrace this method and use it as a stepping stone. Make it a goal to listen to a variety of topics. Challenge yourself to explore new genres or subjects that intrigue you. This will keep your mind active and help ease you back into book reading when you’re ready. In my view, it’s essential to keep pushing your boundaries and training your brain, even when it feels tough. It’s how we grown and keep our mind healthy. You’re capable of more than you realise, and I believe in you!

Hi Laura, thank you for sharing your episodes of what I call a temporary depression. I have been having these for some time, and I am post menopause. However, I am on hormone replacement, so this may be why I still experience some of the effects of a menstrual cycle. I am sorry I can't give you any advice, only comfort in knowing you are not alone. Thank you for your vlogs, I love them. They are very real and inspiring. ❤

Laura, this video was so good. The fact you could share and articulate your feelings so beautifully, is so helpful to us and probably for you as well! Thank you. BTW…I love cottage cheese too and discovered Good Culture small curd cottage cheese (light blue and white container) and it is so yummy. It’s my new favorite! I live in the US, and hope it’s available in the UK so you can try it. Keep up the fabulous work and see you soon❤

Hello Laura, I love your blogs. I'm 63 and really enjoy seeing you and your mom. I always had a very sweet tooth, I have arthritis in my fingers which was very painful. It's an inflammatory disease. In July stared cutting out sugar and processed food. What a difference it has made. I am pain free, I still have the odd sweet treat, after all how can you go for coffee with your bff and not have cake. I just keep it in moderation, over Christmas I indulged and stared to have sore fingers again, cut back and within days the soreness had gone. The added bonus was losing 7kgs, it so nice to feel comfortable in your clothes again. Hang in there, all the little changes make a difference. Wishing you a wonderful 2025.

What you were speaking about at the beginning of the vlog is something that I experience regularly, I usually lose 1-2 weeks a month at the moment to it - I was diagnosed with PPD 8 months ago and I think it’s me recovering from that, slowly and some months are better than others. Look after yourself and don’t beat yourself up, we’re all going through something ❤❤❤

This spoke to me so deeply! I deal with the same thing occasionally! You just don’t even know what is happening! It is rare that this happens to me in summer! Usually the winter dulldroms and I feel it is bc I am pushing myself for spring-warmer weather, reset, decorating-all the things and it doesn’t come-the cold gray skies stay, lack of motivation and energy to do all the things that need to be done! I think we don’t realize what the holidays take out of us mentally and physically. Hibernating and change of perspective I think is key! Relax recharge and THEN begin to implement your plan for the new year! Loved this and love love love your channel, style all of it❤

Hi Laura, I’m a fifty something lady so I’m menopausal now. I’m an introvert which means that for me I need some time away from people, social media, busy places etc. It took me a while to learn what self care habits suit me such as a whole food diet, vitamins, walks in nature, Pilates and a gratitude journal. I listen to audio books and podcasts as well as reading. I hope you find this useful - if only to know that you are not alone. Xx

Hi Laura 🩷 Not sure if anyone has mentioned this in the comments already... And not sure at what point in your cycle you are experiencing these feelings but your symptoms sound very similar to PMDD (Pre-menstral Dysphoric Disorder) Dysphoric as in the opposite to euphoric so extreme sadness in the week/ten days before your period. I was diagnosed with PMDD last year and had all the symptoms you describe. It was absolutely debilitating! And like you say it can come absolutely out of nowhere even half way through having a "good" day. I am now on certain medication that I take during my 'luteal phase' and it has helped enormously. Sending lots of love 😘

Hi Laura, it sounds like you might have PMDD. I’ve had this since my mid 20’s and now 36 and it just seemed to get worse as the year went by. It would happen during ovulation (which I never really hear people talking about it) and also the week before my period. After having my little girl it just became unmanageable so I ended up going on sertraline and honestly, it has helped me so much. Lots of love xx

There is what you call “situational depression” my doctor diagnosed me with several years ago. It doesn’t last as long as clinical depression which can be life long and very different. I went on something for a few months and felt better after. There is also SAD which is seasonal affective disorder which happens in the winter months when we don’t have sunlight. Make sure you are taking Vitamin D it makes such a difference

Oh Laura, before you mentioned hormones I was already thinking it. I just had to pause your video and get on here and say I totally agree with you regards the lack of education around these periods in womens lives. Honestly I breezed through adolescence and we were well prepared for it, they taught us about it in sex ed but my goodness Im flabbergasted that perimenopause and menopause were never discussed. Its mind blowing to me, and my friends, as this is such a massive incredible life change and yet nothing was mentioned. All I can say is, for any women out there going through hormonal changes at any time of their lives, to read up and arm yourself with knowledge. There is a plethora of information available out there now but unfortunately it is only when we are our witts end that we start looking for answers. Also find yourselves a wonderful doctor up to date with all the latest information, believe me, there are a lot of doctors both male and female unfortunately, that are bloody clueless. Just remember, you are not alone, you are not going mad either. Advocate for yourselves! Anyhoo, back to your video. Happy New Year btw. 🥰

Hi Laura, Sorry to hear that you have been feeling low hormones are a bugger. Let me know how you get on with your pan. I have now had two (they replaced one) as I have found that it looses it non-stick quality despite never putting in dishwasher and not heatingit up too high as per their instructions. So I wouldn't purchase again. For the price I have been disappointed. 😘

I feel flat most times. You feel like a mouse on a wheel. Get up, go to work, eat, sleep, rinse and repeat. It’s all so robotic. I keep questioning what is life all about, especially after you lose your parents. You do question your own mortality. Everything you do, everything you achieve, it’s only temporary.

adult onset ADD is real and often times not diagnosed. It presents differently in women than men. You mentioning the fact that you cant focus on reading and perhaps daydreaming or not completing tasks completely, I would go in to see your GP to see if perhaps you have adult onset ADD. BTW: I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner so its a credible suggestion. All my best. x
