Hello from Mississippi USA 🌿 I’m 61 and retired and almost finished with my 3 month journey of Swedish Death Cleaning. I’m excited to be so close to being finished. I’ve thrown away 22 kitchen garbage bags full of items that were mindlessly accumulated. I feel mentally clean! I told our adult daughters that this is my gift to them. The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning book propelled me into action. When I needed encouragement I watched your videos. Observing your efficient method of maintaining a clutter free home motivated me. The items that remain in our home serve a purpose with my homemaking tasks, encourage hygge, or are heirlooms for our daughters. I appreciate your dedication to providing useful, enjoyable, and beautiful content. Today is for rest and relaxation. I’m in my flannel gown with candles lit and relaxing albums playing. I saw you uploaded a video and was so happy. I made a cup of tea and settled in for another wonderful video. Thank you so much, Benita. Warm regards, Beth

Ciao, Barbara dall'Italia.

Are you really ready for death? Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life; no-one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6). Jesus wants you to to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Only by repenting of sin and trusting in Jesus to guide your life are you spiritually safe for all eternity. Hi Benita. To keep January cheerful, I’ve been trying a few things this year (adding to previous years): spot as many different nature colours as possible; candles; home spa evenings; celebrate Epiphany, Burns Night & lunar New Year (I teach mostly East Asian students); read more; 15/30min power declutter sessions; “chic” days; get out of my hermit shell & socialise a bit more (eg. meet a friend for a seaside walk); family film evenings; early bedtimes; gentle exercise (after a year of inactivity due to ill health - building back up slowly); cosy cushions & throws; feeding & documenting the garden birds; enjoy TV/YT on my terms/to suit my own timing, …

Benita, first time to your channel. Great tips! I too enjoy cozy lighting and bringing nature inside (love the branch in vase). Will use your idea of sweater pillows! Was thinking about the sleeves of the sweater ...you could use one for your tissue container to as you suggested add texture and coziness to the glossy surface and you get multi benefits from the sweater. May be no sew just slide the sleeve over the can. I did over a pickle jar to hold my crochet hooks in. Look forward to checking out your other videos! ☕🫖🕯️🌨️🪩

Great idea with the sweater- pillows 🌟🌟🌟 now I know what to do with sweaters that had a too hot wash 🙈 ...still a bit concerned about the unravelling ....Would it make sense to put the pillow inside the sweater , outline the pillow on the sweater and zigzag the outline , so the two layers are connected/ zigzagged before you cut off he superflous parts ?

Hello from Ontario! I agree; I love having the inside reflect what we see out of our windows. My walls & furniture are very neutral so I have lots of leeway. I kept the bright reds/oranges out of my autumn décor this past year and went with copper/soft white/deep muddy brown, & touches of verdigris. I transitioned into Christmas with the same colours, using more natural tree decorations including hanging cones (brushed with a bit of white on the undersides) and some small $store balls that I painted metallic copper/bronze and also warm white. Come January it was easy to continue with the colour theme, just using a bit less copper. Might do the same next year, although every few years I do feel the need to accent with the more brilliant autumn colours and have a more traditional red/white/gold Christmas theme.
@JM-im6ep9 күн бұрын
@ Same here, for the autumn, I stay away from vivid orange or orange pumpkin. I prefer decorative squash and my colors are a mix of dark yellow, muted green, brown and cream for my small elements of decor and cushion covers.

Hello Benita. Here in Florida after the Holidays I too like to cozy up our home a bit. It doesn't really get too cold here, But the Home needs a bit of warmth it seems in January & February. I love the sweater pillow idea, and I layer my sofa with white textured throws. Several of them. It makes such a difference and the white keeps it from looking cluttered. My entire home is white on white everywhere. It's how I enjoy having things but keep it simple & not cluttered. Thanks for the video. You're such a joy to watch😊❤

Wow, t.paper can is great idea. My mother in law has all over the flat lots of roles of paper and it isn't nice. I have to make some cans for her. Thanks Benita and pretty winter time from snowy Czech Republic.

Hi Benita. And thanks for this new video. I especially loved the 'loo roll' in the coffee tin tip. I hope the tissues smell like coffee too! I thought the coffee tin was decorative enough as it was but your paint job was pretty cool too. And I agree that those semlas are yummy enough to eat anytime. All the best....

Dear Benita! I immediately felt cozy when I watched your video! Such great ideas! I also use a meditation app and try to do it on a daily basis due to anxiety and chronic diseases, it’s really a game changer! I also can highly recommend it! How do you Scandinavians prevent or/and treat a cold/the flu?

I personally got a flu shot this year. That doesn’t prevent me from getting a cold but I won’t get as ill.

I was thinking there's no way that Benita will put the coffee tin just like that on the coffee table... and voila! Out comes the white paint 😂 love this idea and also the mirror idea 💛 we are in the heat of summer atm, but I'll be using your tips this coming winter. While we have lots of winter sun, my home is also dark during winter, because it is built to stay cool during the constant 36°C in summer. Come winter, the nice cool interior is not so much fun.

Hi Benita. Another great cosy video 💖 I love the hamper in the kitchen. Where is is from? Is it for dirty laundry? Thanks!

I have one my living room under the painting of the girl, is that the one you mean? It’s for dirty laundry. Might seem lika an odd spot for it but it works for me😅
@HelenSch8 күн бұрын
That’s the one. Do you remember where you got it? I’ve been looking for something similar for sometime. Something like that can be put anywhere, even if it’s just for dirty laundry 😅 thanks again.
