Hi, Did you thread through the black knob which is right behind the needle? Sorry if its a lame question, I am learing to thread Riccar machine gifted by my grandmother. It has the same black hole/knob, I am not sure if we need to pass the thread from that!!

Does this machine have reverse?

It does have reverse. Depress the button in the center of the stitch length numbers.
