I adore this home Colleen! You have so much storage in this home, and I love all of the new furniture. Your dining table looks great with all of the new pieces. Your outdoor spaces are so lovely, I think the plans for the back porch are going to be beautiful. I am excited to see the rest once you get it done. Hi Colleen.....I love it!!!! Didn't think you could out do the home you left.....but this is a beautiful home. I love the floor plan and you have furnished and decorated each room so nice. The living room looks awesome empty and I love the open plan!!! We have a open plan and love it!!! We love our covered decks!!! It’s awesome that that the girls will be together!!! I love the idea of your mums room!!! I love that the school stuff is easy to find but hidden from view!!! Poly wood sounds awesome!!! Screening in the deck sounds like a hard project!!!

Thanks so much! 💕 we love the backyard too! We’ve been trying to figure out why it feels bigger and I think it’s the split floor plan as well as wasted space in the other house. The living room had some unused space as well as the upstairs hallway, upstairs bedroom, and master bedroom. Here those spaces have just the amount of spaced needed for comfort but no extra, yet the laundry room is a good bit bigger and we have 3 closets that aren’t in bedrooms. Before we had no closets other than those in bedrooms.

Beautiful home!!! The stairs leading up to your moms room are identical to the ones in my home. Last year I took a major fall down the stairs. They are super easy to slide down if you are wearing socks. We ended up with a runner and that helps a lot. Can’t wait to see more footage of your home coming together!

Happy for you friend. Honestly deep inside I am so sad that you had to leave that dream area and move away! The house is cute but it looks a bit too small. Is it a mountain cabin? Are there any neighbors around you? Looks scary to be in the wood with no one around. I guess my dream is to move to a similar area like Hilton head, to be near the water and harbor town. I personally don’t like the woods at all, but if you guys are happy with the house, that’s all that matters. Will your mom have any trouble going up and down the stairs? Enjoy your new place !!!! 😊

Thank you! We actually love it here. The house is a little smaller but feels a lot bigger because of the layout. We do have neighbors and are enjoying being away from the crowds in Hilton Head but we miss our church. My mom is doing well and has been good with the stairs.

Curious…why did you put your mom upstairs? Isn’t that going to be difficult for her to climb the stairs as she ages? Also, you mentioned several times that you were not able to bring items from your old house…like your toaster oven, rocking chairs, etc., just wondering why. My mom chose first and that where she wanted to be. There’s more privacy up there. In the previous 2 videos we talked about our unique move situation. We lived in a resort community in Hilton Head full of primarily short term rentals and second homes. Homes there are generally sold “furnished”, and furnished means you’re just bringing your clothes for the most part. The kitchen, etc, had to be fully functional. Thank you, and welcome! 💕

Thank you! 💕Yes, she's doing ok with the stairs so far. She chose first and wanted to be upstairs so we agreed to change with Katie if she feels that it becomes too much in the future. She thinks that the stairs are increasing her strength so that is good.

Does your mom handle stairs o.k.? I only ask because the stairs were one of the reasons that my mom had for moving out of her own home into Independent Living. She was still pretty spry in her early 80's and could still do stairs pretty easily but she recognized the need to simplify to one level living. By her late 80's she could still climb/descend stairs but it was way more difficult for her - thankfully she had the use of an elevator in her Independent living along with grab bars in the shower. I only mention that because you may, at some point, need to consider swapping rooms with her. Your home is lovely, btw.

Thank you! So far she’s been ok, but our plan is to switch rooms later if we need to. She wanted to be up there so we let her try it. My youngest has to be on the same level as is but my oldest could switch if needed.
